As an experienced RN, want to move out Southwest area of the States. I will like to relocate to place where hhas high education standard for kids. With ongoing recession, I know many hospitals are having hiring freeze. Can you tell me if your area still hiring nurses? I Thank you.
Yes - Texas still has opportunities!!! Y'all come on down.
Houston hospitals are actively hiring experienced nurses. Most of the larger hospital systems are in growth mode - opening new facilities. New grads are also welcome, but they may need to connect with a formal training program (residency).
Thank you all for your helps! Is that possible that they can hire me before I move to Texas? I may prefer Dallas over Houston. I heard a lot of crimes in Houston.
Pretty big generalization with Houston being such a huge city, of course there are areas with crime, and lots with not much! Dallas seems nice too though all I know here is Houston. I have seen openings here for experienced RN's. I know that alot of the new grad programs here are being cancelled or put on hold, with the economy. I was actively recruited by a dialysis RN the other day...so I think they must have some openings!

I agree with others: Dallas/Fort Worth is hiring, especially if you have experience. Come on down!
