hello all!!
i am new to the boards and starting the nursing program in 30 days exactly! yay! finally!!
a million different types of shoes have been recommended to me.... from crocs to mbt's! but - someone mentioned that it is important to have really good socks. does anyone have any very strong sock preference that they would be willing to divulge?
i know that with everything this is kind of a silly thing to obsess over, but i am obsessing over it! aarrggh!
whatever advice you might have to share would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!
I don't use any particular brand name, but I find that if the sock has a little cushion on the bottom, thinner top for breathability, and extra support around the arch they are usually pretty good. I got some from Walmart, made by Danskin that I love, I also have some by Addidas that I like. I have never tried Thorlo so I really can't comment on those.
Ok, you need thin cotton socks and you will need a pair of Dansko shoes. When you do make this purchase, make sure your foot is moving freely in the clog and it shouldn't be snug. Think of it like wearing slippers. But the sock needs to be thin or else you will suffer.
Another advice: Prepare to have a life change as soon as you enter this horrible nursing education. They will break you down to the point of crying in the bathroom and wishing you were not breathing. If you can afford picking a different degree into the medical field, go for Physician Assistant. I hope this helped :redbeathe
