Do you believe in the power of prayer, do you pray?

My prayers consist of daily thanks to God. I have never had any one close in my family die or become terminally ill. Myself and my daughter are very healthy and I just can't believed how blessed I am. if I'm going through a problem, I'll pray for Him to help me through it and it ALWAYS works. I don't understand how some people live without Him or fail to realize that He is the reason that we all are here. I love God so much and I am forever grateful for all of His works.

I definitely believe in the power of prayer and pray all of the time. From the largest thing - the saving of a life, to the smallest thing - the finding of the parking spot that should not be there. God works amazing wonders through prayer.

i believe in the power of prayer, and i do believe that prayer works. the proof is in my existence, my still breathing today, my desire to remain true to my father god for all he is, all he does for me, and all i know he has yet to do for me. it is true for me that once i lived a life of hell, but now i see the eternal life of heaven before me and it keeps me focused.

god woke me up one early morning with a clearly spoken message after crying out to him in anguish one night. he said to me "renee, wake up. rise and repeat these words: i am healed! i am delivered! i shall not be moved!" after getting over the shock of hearing these words spoken to me, i obeyed his voice, and i haven't turned back since.

First of all, I am so greatful to find people who believe. I truly believe in prayer. My belief not only comes from experience with others, but with myself.

On January 22, 2002 I found out I had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. After nursing for 5 years you can only imagine what went through my mind, but still I felt at ease. I have always been raised in church and believed in the power of prayer. Immediately people started stating they would pray for me and have others pray for me. I was really blessed. I only had to have a lumpectomy. When the surgeon removed 14 lymph nodes he advised me that they did not look good and that is why he removed so many. With prayers continuing, out of the 14 nodes, NONE were positive. I was truly thankful and know prayer helped. Anyway, I was dreading my first chemo treatment. I had 4 txs of adramycin, and 4 txs of taxol. The onlyonly time I got sick was after my first treatment when I came home and ate like a pig because of the steroids. The rest of my treatments went well. I never had to have any suplements for my white or red cells, no blood products, and no hospitalizations. Infact, we went on vacation to Florida (Universal Studios) between treatments one week. I had a white count of 2.3, and did not acquire any illnesses. I know Prayer was the source of God taking care of me and most of all my Faith. Oh what the power of prayer can do. God Bless each of you.

I feel that prayer works for an individual of a member or group of that religion probably because they believe it will work...

I myself, am not a member of any religion and never have been, however, I plan on supporting all my patients religious beliefs and values - no matter what they are....

The only thing that makes me upset - agreeing with Kara is seeing religion ever forced upon someone, which has been happening for centuries - I wont begin naming religions - though I will say I have NEVER had a buddhist or hindu come to my door

I do believe in the power of prayer. But right now, I am having "issues" with praying and my belief in God. I still believe in God and I know He does good things, but given what my husband and I have been through for the past 19 months...my belief has been shaken :stone :crying2: I prayed before I got pregnant and during my pregnancy, and after Blake died..I tried to pray...but I stopped-I felt like none of my prayers were being answered, and I still feel like that to this day.

I'm sorry to go on about me....

I believe that we would have to be naive to believe that there is no greater power. To me, it does not matter what you choose to call him or her, how you worship him or her, or what your religious practices are. What matters is your faith and relationship with the greater power and that you do whatever mission that he or she has put you here to do. I believe in the health care field we need help at different times to overcome obstacles and that we would be foolish to believe that we can do everything on our own.

I'm an interfaith minister, so. . .I believe in the power of prayer, but not just to the Christian God, to any God. . . because more than physical, it's psychological. . . I've seen it help.
