Direct Entry MSN's 2010

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Just curious if anyone who has applied to the Direct Entry MSN programs at UMASS Worcester, MGH, or Northeastern for Fall 2010 has been contacted about interviews or received word either way yet? I know the deadlines aren't until this week but just wondering if anyone sent their applications in early has heard anything. Thanks!

I haven't heard from MGH yet either...

For those waiting to hear from NEU for an interview, I had an interview with them on Friday (the 19th), which I was notified about 2 days earlier via email. I would suggest calling them maybe -- it couldn't hurt. I applied there in early November and just heard from them last week so I don't know what kind of system they have going, if one at all but it's worth a shot. I was told that decisions weren't going out until late March, April 1st at the latest so there's definitely a significant chunk of time for more interviews. Good luck :)

chemistry03 (I hope your interview at NEU went well!)

It is extremely frustrating that Northeastern is operating this way. I completely understand the significant number of applications they receive but to wait until March or the first of April for a decision, that is such a long wait! I have been accepted to Regis and need to send my deposit in by March 18th egh! Is anyone else facing the same dilemma? I don't want to lose 500.00 on a deposit only to have other schools send out (hopefully) acceptance letters at a much later date! What is everyone else doing about it!?

I have been accepted to Regis but (like many of you) I am waiting to hear back from other schools. My first choice is MGH. I know what you mean though, spending $500 to save a spot at a program that isnt your first choice is terrible. If NU might send you an acceptance letter by mid March I would hold off on the Regis deposit until the last possible moment. I would even think about bringing it to them in person on the 17th or 18th. If I am waitlisted at MGH, that is what I plan on doing. Regis does have a very good nursing program for both the accelerated BSN and MSN. If I do not get into MGH I would have no problem going through the Regis MSN program.

I was wondering if any of you could clarify something for me? From what I remember, the BSN portion of Regis costs $67,000 to complete and the whole MSN program about $110,000 for the three years??? That is what I remember them telling me but I am curious if I might have misheard them? I think that would make their program the most expensive in the Boston area???

Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard anything from MGH, yet? Emails or letters?

Not yet, I'll check the mail when I go home.... errrrr

That is exactly what I am going to do, I live close so if worst comes to worst I will drive my deposit to Regis on the 18th :-). Nothing in the mail today from any other school, still anxiously awaiting!

I am not sure what the total cost for the program (Regis) is, I do know that it is between 67,000 and 68,000 for your BSN which does make it one of the most expensive programs.

If anyone hears from any other school please send a post to let us all know they are at least sending something!

Goodluck everyone :-)

Regis is $103,000 total if you do everything full time. Yikes. My fingers are crossed for UMass Worcester. No MGH decision today.... Good luck everyone!

And if I don't hear, I will drive my deposit over as well. That's a great idea.

Hi ilovemountains,

Congrats on your acceptance to UMASS Worcester. I'm in my first year there. If you have questions about the program that haven't already been answered, feel free to ask!!

No MGH letter today....

Hi everyone,

I found out yesterday I was accepted to Northeastern! :D

Congratulations on your acceptance! Would you mind sharing how you were notified? Email? Regular mail? Phone? Again, congrats, very exciting!

Hi Jamie,

I was notified over the phone and told I should receive a letter from graduate admissions sometime in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the congrats! I am very excited! I hope you hear good news in the very near future!

P.S. I know that the whole school is on spring break next week and noone is expected to be there, so if you're really anxious to find out, you may want to try to call the program coordinator today. She's extremely kind and informative. Good luck!
