Didn't pass aanp...

Specialties NP

Well I didn't pass the AANP. I just wanted to give an overview of the questions I had. I had alot of specific pharm questions, like if you are allergic to cipro and a erythromycin and tetracycline what do you give for bacterial pneumonia. Exact dosages for certain diseases. I mean I must of had 60 pharm questions, alot of diagnosis questions (which was good) and alot of diagnostic, labs that you would or would not do. I didn't have more than 5 assessment questions. Derm was very tricky and the descriptions were very vague.

I am a little discouraged because this sounds nothing like what people have been describing to me. Over all there weren't any diseases that I hadn't seen or heard of or that were not in the review books. Just very specific and in-depth questions. One question had to do with the first pass effect in pharm??? That is like pharm 101.

So I gotta re-take this cr.. again...lol. :rolleyes:

I am not going to wait too long to re-take it. Gotta do CEU's now. If anyone has any advice let me know.

Nursing101-I am so sorry you had a bad first experience--BUT you will be ready for round 2. What type preparation did you do? live review course, CD's, which books? Did you find your anxiety was really high? Hang in there...You can do this!

Thanks for posting Blessed...:)

I had the barkley and fitzgerald cd's, for books I had the barkley review manual, fitzgerald, leik and zerwekh questions. My anxiety level was very high, it got worse when I saw those type of pharm questions. I hope I don't get th same exam again. My anxiety was bad even when I was studying. I am normally a good test taker but I guess I really want this bad...lol! I found myself not being able to recall simple info and doubting myself. :confused: Anyway I am feeling a little better and have done all the CE's and will reapply by Monday. Now I have a strange and good feeling that I will pass.

I am not buying anything else. I had the Hollier questions and answers but never had the time to look at it. I will start studying on Sunday, I don't want to forget the info. I want to retest ASAP...lol!

Thanks for asking... Will keep u posted.

Very happy for you... I am going in about 3 weeks... Blessed for some reason I could not answer you. But I am studying, right now I feel redundant in the info... Like deja vu. I am tired and cranky... and I have to stop working so I can focus on studying only...

Hopefully I will pass...

I think half my class is on adderall. I'd be worried about passing out on a B blocker, lol.

Just a suggestion to you all preparing for the test first or again. I stepped away from the questions and went back to the basics. I made flashcards from the Fitzgerald review book as well as the hollier book, the book that is similar to ferris, not the book of questions. It really helped me. Repitition, repitition, that's what works for me. Thanks to all and best of luck to all. Also, try to remain calm, that is the toughest hurdle.

I thank God, I passed the ANNP test yesterday:clown:. Thanks to everyone who prayed for me and my future.

Hey everyone,

I passed.... :yeah::):)
