Hello everyone! I am taking my NCLEX in about a week and a half and just want to make sure that I'm on the right track...
I did the Hurst Review and have been studying for approximately 4-6 hours a day. I get good scores on their practice tests, so far 82/125 and 84/125. I feel like I have a pretty decent understanding of the content barring a few particular areas, but my knowledge of pharmacology is lacking. I got a 94% chance of passing NCLEX on my ATI.
I always feel really good about my studying until I move to another method, like the Saunders comprehensive review...I did one of their practice assessments today and only got a 57%. I was really frustrated by their questions and started to doubt my ability to critically APPLY my knowledge from Hurst.
Where should I go from here? I am about 10 days into my studying. Should I trust the scores I'm getting on the Q-review and continue to focus mostly on the Hurst materials, or should I also incorporate more practice questions from Saunders? Is there anyone who solely did Hurst and passed first try?
I'm so curious about how many of the NCLEX questions are about random conditions and procedures that I've NEVER heard of. If that's the bulk of my questions then I'm surely screwed! Over. Whelmed.
I'm counting on it!!! With what we were taught in nursing school and the review Hurst provides I am counting on passing the test. The instructor for Hurst told everyone the pass rate last year was 87%. Prior to that it was in the high 90's...before the NCLEX was changed.
I would like to hear what others who have taken Hurst and taken the NCLEX have to say about whether it is enough to pass it or not. Anyone??
And good luck to you SeattleRS24! WE are going to pass it next week. My email is [email protected] Let me know how the test day goes for you. You will be in my prayers from now until after 6/25. Remember, WE've got this!
Just wanted to let you know that I used Hurst, took my test on Monday, and haven't officially passed but am getting the good popup from the PVT. Never thought I would be a 75 questions girl but I was! I agree that I wish I had more questions, but overall I thought Hurst was great. The questions on NCLEX are hard, and for each one I had to spend time breaking down the question and answers, but it was easy for me to apply the basic stuff from Hurst to eliminate answers. I wish you the best of luck! My q-review scores ranged from 77-89/125 if that helps!

Good luck dbrenda1510!! I know so many people who have passed with the Hurst after failing with Kaplan. I know you can pass. Sounds like you're doing the right things :)
