Did anyone not make a semester?

:chair: This is what I want to do right now. Hide under a chair or under the blankets.

I wanted to know if there is anyone out there that didn't pass a semester in a 2 year nursing program.

I just found out yesterday that I didn't pass theory therefore I won't be graduating this December. I was so close and yet so far! I've put myself on a waiting list at my college and hope to get back into fourth semester SOON but heard that it may take a year. SIGH.

I'm trying to calm myself down by saying that I WILL be a nurse but that it'll just be a longer road for me and that there are worse things in life.I'm trying to put things into perspective but I'm grieving right now.

Anyways, some positive advice or comments would be nice.

Nursing school is positively the HARDEST thing I've had to do in my life.

At this point, I'd rather have my teeth pulled :zzzzz

Thanks for listening

While I'm just a pre-nursing student, I have a good freind who is a nurse. She failed the very last semester. She was devistated, but, she had her lpn licence and worked home health care that year, shook off all the stress of school for a while and than began to study. she re-enroled the next year and thanks to her extra study time, got through the last semester with flying colors. Now she works nicu and has said that she's met other nurses that had the same situation. In the long run, it doesn't really matter if you graduate with your freinds, you'll have a long carreer as a nurse. Just use this year to learn some new skills! Good luck!

I am so sorry that this has happen to you. Please don't give up on this, maybe you can apply for your LPN, then go back when there is a space available. My heart goes out to you, nursing school is hard but you can do this. When you go back you will only have one semster to go. Good Luck and may God bless you.

Your soo not alone. I failed second semester. Third semester is very hard here. Dont give up. Just keep on going.

Hang in there! Life sux right now... I know it does! I flunked out of 2 classes 1st semester & was promptly DROPPED (that was 2003). FF 2006: I graduated w/my BSN! This was after my drop, got my BS in Health Ed, then applied, got in & went to an accelerated program.

You can do this... it'll just take a little longer... be patient, hang on to your dream, & complete it! Don't give up! Keep on dreaming nursing dreams & then live it! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I hope when you take it again, you pass. I will be praying for you. In the meantime, you probably can work as a student nurse, go over the materials, buy some study guides and assess yourself. Good luck to you.

Yes, have you though about working as a NAF? This would be ideal. It would help you to continue to use your clinical skills while learning OJT.

If this is possible I would do it!

Hi,

I'm so sorry that you had this happen. I failed my last semester course right at the end so I feel your pain. I found out I wasn't graduating the day before pinning. This is what my Mom told me and I think it helped. She said that I must not have learned something that I was going to need to know to save someones life. Just take things one day at a time. It took me a long time to get over failing my class, but I did and now I'm working on a busy med surg/oncology floor.

I'll send good vibes that you get back into your class. I wish you all the best of luck in your future nursing career. ~B

I'm sorry you failed. My dearest friend failed his last semester and had to repeat it with me. He passed with a wonderful grade. I wish you lots of luck and I like what Brook13-RN's mom said.
