Hello, My name is Sierra and wanted to start this thread for students applying to DSN and students at DSN to ask questions and such. I would like to talk to others applying!
I want to start off by asking: Since DSN does not have an online application process, we are supposed to send in our application materials. We can apply from November 15- January 1st. I know that the sooner the better send sending in applications, but don't know if I should/ could send in my application that Monday, the 11th? What do you guys think?
Hi there. I have also been reading different threads about DSN and a lot of them have been mixed reviews as well. What I'd like to know is if DSN is accredited? I heard that its NLNAC accredited but is it also CCNE accredited? I just need to know if I can continue on with my Master's in nursing after completing my BSN at DSN. Thanks for the info

If you have questions about the school's accreditation, I would recommend contacting them directly. They are very helpful and can answer your questions specifically. We did just receive our HLC accreditation within the past couple of months.
DSN has all the accreditations now- national and regional. We have NLNAC (now the ACEN)and HLC. Per website:
Yes, Denver School of Nursing has both programmatic and institutional accreditation as outlined below.Programmatic Accreditation
The baccalaureate nursing program and the associate nursing program of Denver School of Nursing are accredited by ACEN (the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing; formerly the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission). 3343 Peachtree Rd. N.E., Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326, (404) 975-5000.
Institutional Accreditation
Denver School of Nursing is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, The Higher Learning Commission - Home, (800) 621-7440.
Denver School of Nursing is also an Accredited Member, ACCSC. The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) is a recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.
For the students who have been there before I have applied I was doing well in school but some events in my life turned me to have some dropping grades for example I raised a 1.0 anatomy grade to a 3.9 I also have cover 100 volunteer hours and work as a health information management representative for the fransiscan health system. Does Dsn really value the whole student even with things like hardships that occurred in my life ?
I received an email about a week after I sent mine in. It was just a general "we received your application" email, nothing to exciting. This was back in October though. I'm sure with the holidays and the admission deadline things are a little hectic. If you have concerns about whether they received it you can call. The admissions people are super, super nice and helpful.
