Defiling the test room

Published

I wonder if anyone has ever puked on the computer? I feel like it's a very real possibility that I will have a projectile, explosive bilateral eruption upon seeing question one. I can see myself crying as I fight the people trying to escort me out while I try to wipe off the monitor and apologize for shatting myself.

Let's hope my test (and everyone else's) goes a little better than this scenario eh?

congrats!

what did you use to study?

how many SATAs did you get?

what was your study plan like?

Oh dear!

To help take the edge off the nerves, the lady who taught our refresher class said this, "It's just a test ladies and gentlemen. Relax and go in there and just tell the computer what you know. It's just another test. You've had tests like this the whole way through school." These statements helped me immensely.

It is just another test. The difference is the testing environment. If you think about it, almost every test we take throughout school is a make or break. In my program, each semester we were given a pharmacology test which was different each time. If we didn't get a 90% or higher, we could retest one time. If the score the second time was not >90%, you were automatically removed from the program and could not return. One could argue that we have to pay a lot to take the NCLEX. While that's true, compare that to the tuition you paid.........

NCLEX IS just another test....prepare the best you know how, and go show them what you know. I passed in February-in 75 questions. The day before the test, I received horrific news that changed my life forever. The news was so bad, I even debated not taking the test.

Keep it in perspective and go forth and conquer!

I didn't feel nauseous lol but I did tear up a little at the beginning. It seemed sorta surreal that I was there. When I first started college I had someone tell me that I'd never become a nurse. Four & a half yrs later I was taking the NCLEX-PN. Never let someone tell you that you can't do something!!

I dry heaved at the panera next door before the test and almost cried my eyes out at the lady when I was leaving lol

Your story about receiving bad news and almost not sitting for an exam reminded me of when I had to take an Excelsior test for AAS when I had just dumped fiance. I was SO upset, but had already paid for exam. Figured "what the ***?" If I flunk, I'll just re-take it. I did NO studying, just flying with what I already knew.

I was over the moon when I scored HIGHLY! Don't sell yourself short.

Relax...God forbid, if you have to repeat test, you will then have a far better idea of where to direct your study efforts.

You've already accomplished so much by being eligible for NCLEX, I totally agree with the poster I quoted. Time to show them what you know! It just might be YOUR TIME TO SHINE!

Sorry for your bad news, studentnurse50. SO happy for your success!
