Doctors flirting with nurses? Thoughts?

I am particularly chatty with one of the younger doctors. Never thought anything of it, although he has been mildly flirtatious in the past. Then today, he initiates a conversation and he is laying on the compliments really thick. Now, I really like this guy as a person and would hate to have to lose the comraderie we have built over the past six months. But, it is kind of wierd to have someone that you call by a title be that attentive.

Any of you have a similar situation and how did you deal with it.

By the way, I am married and feel as if I have not done anything to encourage this behavior. I greet nearly all the friendly doctors the same way, though this doctor is my favorite d/t his easygoing ways.

There are strict Federal Laws against sexual harassment and something that seems as benign as someone commenting that your clothes or hair looks nice is considered sexual harassment. As long as flirting behavior in the work place is tolerated by those who receive it and is not reported through the appropriate avenues this type of unprofessional behavior will continue!!!! The hospital I work for does not tolerate sexual harassment in any way and follows the Federal Laws strictly. I know of 2 former employees at my hospital who were fired for flirting with coworkers who were offended by it and reported it. How to deal with flirting doctors? Simple, report them to the proper authority in your hospital who deals with sexual harassment complaints!!!!

Also ladies, watch yourselves with flirting with Docs!!!!! They could make a sexual harassment complaint about you!!!!!

You know I have to admit. Alot of nurses initiate and totally worship doctors. I'v noticed alot of the nurses i've worked with laying it on thick with the doctors. that ones that didn't actually got more respect from me. All the doctors we have are respectable but they do like that extra attention but i never give them any. I just like to do my work plus..i'm just one of those nurses that doesnt have a thing for doctors..no matter if they're cute or loaded with money. dont know why....the white lab coats just doesnt do it for me. I'm pretty attractive but i never got into the whole flirting thing....plus flirting at work? I'd like to keep my reputation at work professional.

That would be nice if it did happen, marry me a nice doctor with a lot of money:)

All I can say is it would make my day if a doc would flirt with me now!!:chuckle

funny, but there's a poster who is 27 saying how a doc flirted with her when she was much younger..as if she's so old now. i don't get it. are you old once you are past 25?

Oh how I miss those days. I adore my wife and will be with her until the day I die (likely when she a knife through my head for some stupid comment I made).

But really, is there anything better than running into the nurse you made out with in that bar the week before, and picking it up again in the employee lounge?

Man, most days I don't wish I were young again. But every once in a while . . .

Ask for a credit report first, student loans can run into the triple digits. :)

Child Support supercedes loan payments. And it will get higher with every passing year. *thumbs up*

Ok I'm bad-LOL

Maybe she aged quicker, some women when they get older they become less attractive, some look better, thank God I'm one of the ones who started to look better with age...

Hey you got a point right there. From my observation women are just as worse as the men.Personally I dont fall for the lab coat, military, police uniform or a man with a suite and tie,I fall in love with a personality and I guess they cant look like Freddy Kruger...but I guess different strokes for different folks!!!!

It's not just the ladies who have to deal with this...sometimes us younger gay men are on the opposite end of the leering eyes of the gay MDs and fellow RNs! Turning a cold shoulder and playing oblivious works 99% of the time! :D
