It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our most beloved members, Daytonite.

Daytonite was instrumental in working with the nursing students here at allnurses.com. She was always there for them as well as the seasoned nurse. Her love, however, was teaching those in a nursing program by leading and guiding them here at allnurses.com.

Daytonite had been ill for a while; more seriously in the past 8 months. She passed away on April 8th, 2010.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Daytonite. If anyone would like to place a condolence, here is the online obituary: JOYCE WAGNER Obituary: View JOYCE WAGNER's Obituary by The Plain Dealer. We think her family would be very touched reading the comments from our allnurses family.

We join you in mourning our friend...

Our fellow colleague...

A nurse above all...

A true advocate for the patient...

A teacher who gave of her heart for all who aspired to be a nurse.

Goodbye, Daytonite. You will be truly missed.

With Love,

All the allnurses.com staff

Oh, I just now saw this -- my heart is broken. I, too, just graduated from nursing school and could always count on Daytonite to set me straight on any questions I had. She was such a wonderful teacher :heartbeat: I do hope she knows how much we all care(d) for her. Thank you, Joyce for everything.

oh my gosh. she's such a good teacher for all of us. her posts are really interesting and informative. she'll always be remembered here in allnurses.

She was always so helpful, and so knowledgeable. She will be greatly missed.

I can say that she will be missed here on earth. She helped so many people and inspired so many on this site. I hope to one day be able to help ones as she did. Rest in Peace.

OMG, I just say this information and I am totally in shock! I will never forget her because she was one of the nicest people you will ever meet online. She went beyond and above to help students on this board and has affected so many people positively. I am truly shocked.

When I was redirected to this page from a google search I'd done, this was the first thing I saw. I was taken aback because I was hoping that the answer that I would receive for my question would come from Daytonite. I remember when I first read her post responses. I immediately became infatuated with her because she possessed so much wisdom! I was so determined to follow her that I sent her a friend request and left her a heartfelt message while oblivious to the extent of her situation at home. I knew that she had an illness from reading a past response she made to another member, but I did not know the seriousness. I felt like for a moment, my heart stopped. I did not know her, but through her postings I adopted her as my mentor. Life is so fragile. I do not mourn her. I am smiling for her because I know that she is no longer struggling with her illness. I'm hurt that it had to come to a person so wonderful as her who spent her "disability" helping students like myself. God, I want to bury myself into a pillow because of the fragility of life, especially to those who I feel don't deserve to experience death, but I have a greater strength within myself. I am extending my thoughts to those of you who may also be experiencing the same emotions that I have. Death is not a punishment, neither is it a confirmed end. She was so charitable with her wisdom in the nursing field. She had stated in an old post that she was an old woman and was ill. So I know that she lived a long life and she lived it helping others. Her wisdom continues in those that she shared it with, and hopefully her posts will remain for us to use as a resource whenever we need it because to me, she had the best answers.

Just read about this and am saddened by the news. My condolences to her family and friends and may her soul rest in eternal peace.

The Lord needed his angel back. I thank the Lord for this amazing nurse who has clearly a gift from heaven. You helped me so much and saying thank you will never be enough. I am sad but at the same time happy to know that I have the opportunity to learn from this amazing teacher. You were more than a nurse... My prayers go to her family and loved ones. I will never forget you!

May her family find comfort and peace :(
