Hello my name is Cassidy. I am writing on here because I wanted to get an idea on how many people are signing up for the nursing program of spring 2020. You would sign up in September. My GPA is 3.84 I am currently in my last prerequisite Microbiology. I still have to do teas on my teas practice I scored 81% in reading 70% in math in high 50%+ in science English (which I am trying to bring up before I take teas). What scores would you recommend to get that way I am guaranteed a spot. I can't wait another year to get in.. I know in my micro class there is about 20+ applying for September. Just wanted some advice...
Thats so long I applied a day after the hurricane ended so like the first week of September so I have been waiting forever also. Dang that sucks!! They are called hunter green. I tagged the ones my sister got. I took pictures of everything they needed for program you get to choose from 3 different scrub brands I personally think the sketcher brand looks and feels the best!
Lucky you for getting all the ins & outs from your sister! Does Daytona give out white coats for the RN? My friend goes to a different school and received one for her program. Also the hunter green Skechers scrubs look way nicer than I expected, so excited and praying I get in. Hopes are high from what the advisors told me!
Yeah I am super nervous! I know I have high gpa but I dont know how many other people have high gpa. I really need this more then anything! I hope and pray I get in also.. I worked so hard for this. I wish they would send letterss like today! I know when my sister applied the GPA cutoff was pretty high. Thats why Im freaking out lol the gpa cut off was 3.41.
and My sister didn't get white coat.
Exactly!! Years and years of pre-reqs and I’m right there with ya! At least we’re in category 1 so the chances are a little higher. I put down that I was open to day and night classes to improve my chances but would prefer the daytime. Also GPA cutoff is always lower in the spring
I need the nursing director to call me today and let me know if I’m in!!
it’s just getting more and more competitive
I'm here with you (TheNatural Nurse). I turned in my packet the first day at the Edgewater campus. She did tell me that if I get a rejection letter we are put on waiting list in case others don't take their seat so please answer the phone because they will call you if they have open slots. I am category 3 also (2.55) but you never know. I just keep waiting.
Yes the wait is the worst ! What also sucks is people will get in nursing program and then drop out and then those are seats that don't get replaced I feel if your absolutely positively sure this is what you want to do then apply but if not people could be possibly taking our seats !! A lot of people in my sisters class drop out and they don't replace seats because of the fall classes already started. I feel bad for so many people that really want it and don't get in. I hope and pray we all get in !!
I know nursing is career that I want to accomplish, I study and work too hard with prerequisite and the teas to turn back around so therefore I willing to put in the work and deal with the challenges as I go while attending the nursing program in the spring ..so everybody that’s on this page that willing to put in the work and challenges , we can study, work as team, graduate , and take the NCLEX, and finally graduate together ! So I pray their is a seat reserve for us ! ?
Hey Rhyleigh! Yes they have to be all white, no logos, closed toe, low heel, and closed, non- skid, non permeable, and no canvas. I copied word from word from the sheet my sister got from orientation ? Its very specific lol. your socks can only be white or neutral tone. if you wear shirt under uniform it can only be plain white. They are very strict with uniforms. I got most all my supplies already beside uniform and shoes. Supplies are : Stethoscope, bandage scissors, pen light, and watch. Hope this helps!
oh yeah and the brand of scrubs you can choose from just in case you wanted to know is cherokee, landau pro-flex, and sketchers. I also have book list if you need it! Once we get accepted its best to get most stuff out of way little by little because my sister waited and it got very pricey because she had to buy everything at once.

These past two months have been the longest! I applied in the beginning of September. Also, called the school and the lady said the letters will probably not be sent out until Nov 4th so fingers crossed that it happens sooner ??Also the expansion sounds great more of us would get accepted!!
Are the scrubs still a greenish/teal color?
