Hello my name is Cassidy. I am writing on here because I wanted to get an idea on how many people are signing up for the nursing program of spring 2020. You would sign up in September. My GPA is 3.84 I am currently in my last prerequisite Microbiology. I still have to do teas on my teas practice I scored 81% in reading 70% in math in high 50%+ in science English (which I am trying to bring up before I take teas). What scores would you recommend to get that way I am guaranteed a spot. I can't wait another year to get in.. I know in my micro class there is about 20+ applying for September. Just wanted some advice...

Since that was the last day to turn in application, did they tell you when they will be sending the letters ? I was thinking the ending of October because I thought the deadline was the ending of September
They pushed it to Oct 4th cause of the hurricane (that never happened) but I took it more time to study lol they said 6-8 weeks as usual but I'm thinking the first week in November possibly the second. I'm going to call if I don't hear anything by Halloween

I took most of my classes at DSC and have like a 3.79 or something like that here, but a couple years back I went to UCF as an engineering major and didn't do great, so my combined gpa is ***ed at 3.34 lmao. I'm not totally worried because I applied for the first time last semester and I was actually offered a seat. I was sent a rejection letter, DIDNT KNOW I WAS PUT ON WAIT LIST, and missed the call thinking it was one of those annoying *** alerts from the school that are never relevant ?
But yeah, the whole 1-2 month wait is insane. I know you'll get in so I hope you get the campus you want! I'm shooting for Deltona.
so do they go by combined or just DSC? my combined is a 3.498 I have a degree from NJ that my GPA was a 3.7 but then I took my prerequisites at Keiser in 2018 and my GPA was a 3.5 then too two classes at DSC over summer and now my GPA is a 3.498 (dumb Music class I got a C) but I only took two classes this summer at Daytona and my GPA is 3.0 for Daytona.. I wonder how that goes

They go by your overall GPA as I was told by ******* ****** today in an email l. I was worried cause my overall is a 3.498 and I have only taking two classes at DSC and have a Current GPA of a 3.0 for those to. She said they go by your Cum GPA. So I feel so much better. And I think we both got this

Yeah they said when I applied I am in category 1 so I have a really good chance of getting in! I just hate waiting I hope we all get in. I just want to know NOW!!
How do you find out what category you are in. When I handed in my application she just took it had me sign the clip board and that was it
When I did my application they told me what category I am in based on my gpa and prereqs being all done and my teas being at or above what is asking. I put category link down below. He also told me basically how they decide. I also went to nursing department first they go by someone who has completed all requirements. If there is someone with 4.0 that doesn't have all requirements done they will not get in, if someone had 3.5 and had everything done they would get in before a 4.0 would. I have all requirements done and higher gpa scale that is why I was put in category 1 he said. They go by first requirements of everything being done, then they go by gpa and if someone has same gpa and its like last spot then they would compare teas. Jesslynn if you have a 3.5 basically and you have everything done your also in category 1 but they say placing in a category is still not a guaranteed spot because it depends on the applicants.

Yes I am in category 2 with a 3.498 GPA

Hi my name is Rhyleigh. I also applied for Spring 2020 with everything done and GPA in category 1. Has anyone received letters yet? Also I have been looking everywhere for information on what the typical schedule is like (such as where clinicals take place) so if you know anyone who has told you any info please share!:)
Hey Rhyleigh,
I don't think anyone on here has received letters yet. I think we will get next week or the week after. Hopefully!! I have been waiting forever!! My sister is in her first semester but she is at palm coast campus. The campus your put on is what depends on where your clinicals will be. After 6 weeks you get to do clinical in nursing home that is where first clinicals will be. My sister also told me they are expanding palm coast campus to where you can do the whole nursing program there which will make space for more applicants. I will have to ask her about schedule because I forgot. I am pretty sure its 3 days a week.
