So, besides microwaving Jell-O, what are some tips that you CPNE veterans can dish out fo me and us others awaiting their CPNE? What is something you found out when you where there that surprised you, confirmed things you heard elsewhere, etc.? Whatever you got, dish it up! :hlk:LOL I like the Hulk dude.

Can't give you any pointers, but wanted to tell you good luck on your last days of studying. It will soon pay off. Thanks for the # by the way. Traci:)
Thank you too for the number and the well wishes. My hands now eternally smell like nitrile. I can't even scrub the smell of the gloves off due to all the practicing. I fear the wound station.

The wound station was a piece of cake.
You'll be fine.

My best advice is to talk out loud so your CE, patient and YOU know what you are doing. Before you touch the pt, ask yourself if gloves are needed or if you need to ID them. Good luck.. it is very doable!

I have the latex allergy, so I was given 3 pairs of size 7-1/2 sterile gloves. They are at least a 1/2 size too big for me. I was told that they would have latex-free gloves there, but I am so freaked that they will only have 9s or something. It's hard to manipulate the gauze with fingertips that are too long.
Thank you for the encouragement, though. :)
I'm actually afraid I will start singing. I verbalize when I practice, but when I'm doing things that require time but not much talking (like packing that stinkin' wound), I will break out into song. The latest one I've been singing is "We Built This City." I used to sing all the time when I worked the floor, too. I bet I wouldn't be the first one to do that, either....
Thank you for the wishes of luck...I need 'em!

Haha I was going to suggest singing. On my way up to NY with my sister, we were stuck on mountain roads and relied on XM radio. She controled the radio and "If I were a boy" by Beyonce kept coming on.. during my CPNE I started singing "if I were a boy.." I got some looks but it got me through so I don't care.. build that city and pack that wound!
SWEET! :chuckle Did you sing during the PCS time or during the sim labs?

LOL!!! I sing while working, too. :) Which could be considered physical jeopardy, considering my singing voice.
What do you croon while working?
