Just curious if anyone else is using this and how they're doing??
I'm reviewing with Saunders Comprehensive and then Davis lets me 'itemize' a little better than the Saunders CD to take practice exam questions. I'm doing terrible, so I'm wondering if Davis is a little harder than the others.
So far for the difficulty of the questions, it's good. It's better than the questions at Saunder's CD. At least almost all question's rationales are explained as to why a choice is correct or incorrect.
The best part is you can customize your questions by classification. :)
***But I hate how the latest update of the software works.
1. NO calculator. You have to use your system calculator provided by Microsoft.
2. Bookmarked questions are not saved in a file so you can review/use the questions at a later time.
And lastly, I just wished they designed the software where the questions that were answered doesn't show up in your next practice session. That way, you can answer all the questions in the CD.
Yes, I have noticed some faults with the software.I usually pick all the questions in a category so that I will not get any repeat questions. For example, there are 150 questions in high risk behavior, disease prevention and lifestyle choices all together. If there were 200 questions in that category, I would do 150 questions, because I only do that number of questions a day. This will decrease any repeated questions. I have seen only about three repeated questions when I do this. So far, the cd is pretty good. I hope they replace the calculator and fix the bookmark.

Yes. So far, the method you mentioned is the only way to answer all the items in the CD with less or no repetition of questions. Also, this, I believe, won't give an accurate measure if we are really improving in our performance. It is the reason why we get high scores due to the frequent repetition of a question(s). We already are familiar with the question/s and it's answer that we tend not to read the whole question and the choices anymore.
But again, if possible, we want to answer random questions from different categories just like how the NCLEX-RN works.
I just really wish that they have a customer support for their software so we can air our rants!
Keep us posted if you made the call. :)
******! The CD content is starting to get me ******.
If you have been using the CD questionnaires, you'll come across a lot of typographical errors and questions and answers that doesn't makes sense, like you gave a correct answer but the rationale is not about the topic, or the rationale belongs to an incorrect choice. Sometimes it's vice versa. There's also this question that is so weird that the question doesn't makes sense. So i don't know which answer to choose. :smackingf

You are so right about that, lol. I have worked arouond this by looking at the rationales really careful. There was a question about how HPV can be transmitted, and one of the answers was that it could not be spreaded via the oral sex route, yet Davis cited the CDC. When I went to the CDC site, it state that HPV can be transmitted via the oral sex route. I will be calling Davis about the problems on the CD. I have been working around the errors. Most of their rationales are good, but the correct answers on some of the questions do not seem to fit the rationales, like you stated.

It is. This book is getting disappointing. I just hope they will have an update of the software. I don't know if the update can fix the problems regarding the questions and answers. Maybe the update will only concern the graphics interface of the software, like adding a calculator, better design, etc. .
If you're going to call them, let us know what happened..:) Thanks Tinkerbell04:yeah:

Just sent it off the other day. It might take a few weeks before I get something.
