Dansko clogs

Anyone like these? I'm thinking of purchasing a pair. Problem is.......I'd have to order online. No store close by. These are not cheap shoes and want your opinions on wear and tear, comfort, ect. before I invest. I have foot problems and they hurt a lot. I am looking for a supportive shoe that can help me make it through the 12 hrs on my feet. Any other suggestions would be helpful. I don't like the feel of tennis shoes either. Yes, I know. I'm picky. Thanks in advance. Have a great day.:paw:

I HATE my Dansko's ! What size are you? I'll sell you mine cheap! I spent $100 on a pair of shoes I wore once! They caused a huge bruise on top of each foot that lasted for a week. I know a lot of people rave about them, but I thought they were the absolute WORST shoe I have ever worn!

I wear a 40 narrow...what are yours?

They are a 38, so they'd be a bit small for you

Not to rain on anybody's parade, just as an FYI: buying & selling stuff has to be done here. Thanks. :)

I bought Dansko Professionals on the recommendation of my friend who's been a nurse for years. I wear a women's 10-11, have a high arch and kind of wide feet. I bought size 44 and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. Granted I am only in my first semester, but my feet do not hurt at the end of a clinical day. I'm 6' tall without them so the extra 2" make me a real giant but I don't care. I have no pressure points with them. I'd definitely buy them again.

Danskos are a no go for me, I've found out. My feet feel great in them, but we have a lot of cords and equipment to manuever around in the OR, step on a cord the wrong way, and there goes my ankle. I've almost wiped out a few times because of this. I also don't feel confident running/moving quickly in them, and I'm always on my feet.

I love my Danskos. I've had them for 5 years now and I went from not being able to stand up straight at the end of my shift because my back and legs were hurting so bad to being able to run a marathon at the end of my shift. (Considering I'm horizontally challenged I doubt could run a marathon. Maybe in my mind.) The only problem I had was during the first week, it was like I was learning to walk all over again. I kept on tripping over my own feet.

I just got a pair for clinicals. I haven't worn them out of the house and I don't know if they will make it beyond my front door. I keep rolling my right ankle in them. For folks who have worn them for awhile, did this ever happen to you? Is this a "learning how to walk in them" issue, or can I anticipate always having problems? I love them otherwise...they make my feet feel good, my back feel good, and I think they are cute.

Oh, mine aren't the open-backed clogs, they are the professional line with the back.

there's a bit of a learning curve in learning to walk in them, but now that i've been wearing mine for years, i can't imagine wearing anything else to work! (and i'm having a hard time walking in my uggs!)

I have a pair of Dansko Professional. When I first saw them I thought they looked heavy and clunky. I heard from several people how great they were, so I bought a pair. What a difference! They are not heavy at all. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had for work. I wouldn't wear anything else. My legs and feet never hurt. When I first got them, they felt a little snug on the top of one of my feet, so I wore thin socks for a few days, they loosened and I can wear my thick socks so i would recommend thay you don't buy them loose.

Funny you should ask. My first pair were purchased 2 1/2 years ago, and I absolutely love them. They are still in great shape, but unfortunately, they are white. Now that I have graduated nursing school, I want some in a new color. I went out yesterday to buy a new pair, but they just didn't feel the same. The arches fell in slightly different places on my instep. I talked about this problem to two different high-end shoes store managers, and they both told be that about a year ago, Dansko's contract with Sanita (who made the soles of the shoes) ran out, and Dansko is now using a Chinese company to make the shoes. They just aren't the same anymore, and now I am looking for a Sanita dealer.

Has anyone ever bought the Sanita shoes? I love my Danskos....and want a new pair exactly like the ones I have, not with the soles made by another company. I was wondering if anyone has boughtthe Sanita brand and how they compare to the original Danskos?

I bought my first pair of Danskos in 1999, they lasted a good five years and I swore these were the best shoes I had ever worn. They were made in Belgium. A couple months ago, I decided to purchase online at Shoe Central. Even though I ordered a size bigger than what I normally where, I couldn't get used to them so I returned them for an exchange. By the way, these Danskos are now being made in China so the sizing is a little different. I am now happy with my purchase. I have the "Ingrid" brand.
