Hi everyone - I am new here but am starting at DNI in the night program in August. I saw some old feedback, and was wondering if anyone has some recent feedback?

ok...thanks. I guess i just need to suck it up and go and take the test. I've been hesitating because I thought it was hard and I wanted to study first. But if it's basic math I should be fine. How long was the test? How long do you wait for your scores? Does the school require you to wear scrubs all the time?

The total time with the pretest and NET, I believe I was there a little over 2 hours. They called me within a few days to tell me my score. Yes, in school you always have to wear scrubs. They provide scrubs for clinical but for class you have to get your own, it doesnt matter what color, and they have to be the V-neck ones, no wrap around or anything like that.

Omg... Was these nursing students that are acting like children? Well nevertheless i am glad to hear that everything is going fine for you. Be blessed and good luck!

Do they really enforce the "no wrap tops" thing? When I came to school to sign my paperwork, the admissions representative was like "They'll tell you at orientation to only wear solid scrubs and not print ones, but as you can see nobody really listens...." looking around at the students wearing print tops. The (expensive) scrubs I already own have a wrap top, so I'm really hoping I don't have to buy another new set.

I start next week and I'm SO excited! Shot clinic on Wednesday and orientation on Friday...it's all finally happening!

Good luck to you!:yeah:

The orientation is a bit overwhelming, they put a ton of books in front of you and give you a huge reading assignment.

I don't think they care about scrubs being printed, but I'm pretty sure they are serious about the no wrap around ones. You could try, worst they can do is tell you not to wear them again right?

I am having a great time so far, I hope you enjoy it!

txstarr do you think it's worth it versus going to El Centro for the same program? Do they allow you to get grant money to help pay for the tuition?

ElCentro would be much cheaper, but it's hard to get selected and you have to do pre reqs. Just depends if your willing to wait. DNI has a financial aid department to help you with grants and student loans.

Hello future Nurse,

Just wanted to say hello and that I have Dr. * also and she is a wonderful teacher! How has the test/exams been in her class?

Her tests are hard. Just make sure you study and pay attention to her lectures and you will be fine.

Specializes in Home Health.

I would like to know where clinical rotations are completed.

I went to visit DNI on last Thursday. I thought the people were really nice and very helpful. The classrooms are full though. The school itself is not that big. I was surprised at how many people showed up for the info session. I'm still trying to make a decision on if I want to attend the school or not. I do like the fact that lecture is only two nights a week. That's not too stressful. I have been studying for the NET test. So I guess I'm the only one holding myself back. I thank all the people on here for answering my questions and giving me some insight on this school. I just have to get it together, go take the test and begin my future.

The classrooms start out full, but we started with around 50 and it's only the 2nd month and a good few have dropped already.

The NET isn't really that hard.....good luck to you!
