Dallas Nursing Institute

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone - I am new here but am starting at DNI in the night program in August. I saw some old feedback, and was wondering if anyone has some recent feedback?

Yes I do.

-This is a very good school, with a high NCLEX rate compared to other private programs in the area.

-They were recently approved to start an RN program.

-The teachers are AWESOME.

-If you want your hand held, like most nursing schools, you won't like it.

-What I found out is the people who previously complained (but not always) were students who cheated, or failed out. This school requires you to go home, read, and understand. Then come back and ask educated questions. There is not enough time in the night class to spoon feed the material.

--There will be things that you don't like. There will be things that will change, but such is life. Good luck! Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the feedback. I actually came across someone I actually know that is attending there and graduating around November. It seemed that her biggest complaint was the clinical sites, she said they care not where you live, they say they will try to schedule you close to home, but never put you where you sign up for.

If that's the worst thing there is, I can deal with that!

I only hope people in the night program are willing to do study groups.

to txstarr972 i am attending dni in august 2009. i would like feedback as well from current students and recent grads. i am hoping alot has changed since the old post.

thanks.

Great! Are you doing the night program? I go on Tuesday to sign my contract!:yeah:

Yes, I am starting the evening class in August, because I work too. I am excited and decided not to let the blogs about the school determine my success in my career goals. I think that we have to be dedicated and work hard to succeed. The school is still accrediated so I guess it can't be all that bad. We'll be fine. It is what each individual makes it.

I'm going to go in a few weeks to sign mine because I want to have completed my CPR certification and have the funds together.

I work a full time job as well, which is why I am attending nights. I have already met with financial aid - they said I just need to come in to do the final signing. I believe they are going to put me on a monthly payment plan to take care of what pell and loans doesn't cover.

I agree, it will be what we make it!

Ok, so I signed my paperwork last week and will do the health clinic, orientation, and start next month. I'm excited and nervous. I know it is goin to be really hard with classes and everyday life. But it'll be worth it, it's a stepping stone.

Hi Glouise! Welcome to DNI! I wish you well, I will come in class and see if I see you. You will need support lol, trust me. It's rough, but it's all for a reason..

Hey Glouise! Let me know if you need anything! Welcome to DNI!

Did anyone have to pay when signing the contract? I have an appointment wednesday to sign.

Yes you have to give a down payment, and that amount depends on what financial aid comes up for you. Whatever loans/grants doesn't cover, they put you on a payment plan and you give an amount down at signing.
