  1. The shot clinic did take forever I got there at 6pm and didn't leave til 9pm. But oh well. The clinic is at the school and if you aren't up to date with your immunizations, you'll have to get blood draw/shots, plus drug test, physical, and TB test(like I had to).
  2. Contact the Financial Aid office. I know they use Sallie Mae, Wachovia, and Discover based on the info from orientation. But your best bet is to contact the FA office.
  3. Personally I think would take the school road first so that you will be able to get a decent career, benefits, and flexible schedule to help provide for a baby/family in the future. I am a single parent going to school for my LVN(TX) then for RN and it isn't easy. It will be hard to have a lil one at home that you needs you while you are tryin to go to school, nursing school isn't going to be easy.
  4. In the programs I have researched it seems that they want you to have experience as LPN and have a letter from a supervisor that you worked under. I am just starting LVN (TX) school and plan to bridge to RN afterwards. But I figured since I don't have all the required prereqs for the RN program I can work as an LVN and go to school for prereqs. By that time I'll have experience needed for RN bridge.
  5. Ok, so I signed my paperwork last week and will do the health clinic, orientation, and start next month. I'm excited and nervous. I know it is goin to be really hard with classes and everyday life. But it'll be worth it, it's a stepping stone.
  6. Yes, I am starting the evening class in August, because I work too. I am excited and decided not to let the blogs about the school determine my success in my career goals. I think that we have to be dedicated and work hard to succeed. The school is still accrediated so I guess it can't be all that bad. We'll be fine. It is what each individual makes it. I'm going to go in a few weeks to sign mine because I want to have completed my CPR certification and have the funds together.
