Do any of you know if they work with private loans? I am not eligible for federal aid or grants, so my only option would be to get a private loan. Also, is the payment plan usually good, or is it a lot per month? And how much is the down payment usually?

Contact the Financial Aid office. I know they use Sallie Mae, Wachovia, and Discover based on the info from orientation. But your best bet is to contact the FA office.

I will do that, thanks. I'm just glad to know they use Discover--I have a loan already from them so it'll probably be easier to apply for this one.

Well, I had the shot clinic/drug test tonight, Friday is orientation and I start Monday! The shot clinic took FOREVER! Oh well, at least it's over with.

Aaaah I took the NET today...it was a little stressful, I had a total brain fart and forgot how to do any math at all at first, but then my memory kicked in and I think I did all right. I just want to know if I passed and when I can enroll. I hate waiting!!!

TxStarr did you have to go to different places to do the shot and drug screen or was it at the school?

The shot clinic did take forever I got there at 6pm and didn't leave til 9pm. But oh well. The clinic is at the school and if you aren't up to date with your immunizations, you'll have to get blood draw/shots, plus drug test, physical, and TB test(like I had to).

Yeah same here, I was at that shot clinic 3 hours before I was finished. The blood draw is to check if you still are immune from the childhood immunizations like MMR. If that comes back and you are not you have to get those again too.

My arm is sore today!

TxStarr,

I was just wondering how the first couple of days have gone at school so far? With all of the negative feedback about DNI on this site, I just wanted someone's opinion who has just started. I have applied at numerous community colleges for the ADN program but I am getting frustrated with waiting and have been considering attending DNI for the LVN program.

Hey there!

Monday was our first night, and I like the instructor. It was A&P and we went through 4 chapters. She seems to really want us all to succeed, and she gave us a great study guide of notes. Tonight is Fundamentals. Honestly, I haven't seen anything negative, except the person next to me crunching potato chips, I really wish they wouldn't let people eat in the class. Very annoying.

I will check back with you in a few weeks and see how it is going. I would be attending the day class and I know sometimes they are a little different. The one thing I was concerned about was financial aid, but it seems like the last few people have posted that the FA dept seems to help people out with getting loans, etc.
