Hey there,I need a little bit of help here, ideas, suggestions, everything is welcome.
I'm an ICU RN with 3 years experience, looking to relocate to dallas.I want to get a job in CCL,GI Lab or PACU.I've got no clue what the hourly rates are so please help me out here.I was thinking Parkland,Baylor, presbyterian.
something else,i want to buy a house, how much taxes i would have to pay for lets say a 150k house?thanks a lot everybody!
I'm assuming that the $10,000 standard deduction is applicable to married couples only. Therefore, as a single person my standard deduction would be in the ballpark of, say, $5,000?
Oops ... good point ... I'm not sure about the single standard deduction amount, but you're probably right.
I should have added that the $10K standard deduction applies to married couples. And, when that's the case, it can potentially greatly reduce the deduction benefits on your house.
It sure did when I prepared our taxes this year. We just don't have that much interest and property taxes above and beyond $10K on our house to make much of a difference with our taxes. We pretty much do just as well with the standard deduction.
The only way it helps, really, is if you have other itemized deductions to add on top of the house ... But, the house itself ... at least in our case ... isn't much of a tax break.

Well - and remember that we do pay more in property taxes here on average...
It also depends on your tax bracket. As a single head of household - the house I owned save me HUGE amounts of money on my taxes - about 7k per year in taxes I didnt have to pay! But now as a married couple in a higher bracket, we don't benefit nearly as much.
:uhoh3:

 Man , yall are choking me with some of these house prices..JJJJJJEEEZZZZZ... I paid 55K for my 4 bedroom in SW Ft Worth about 10 years ago (since then have moved).. but I threw up for a week after signing the papers... I guess Im 2 cheap...
You ain't seen nothing! LOL You ought to get a load of NY prices! Whew! The average house in my next of the woods is about $250,000 (a ranch or split or older home). I am looking for a house somewhat cheaper than that....and they are mostly fixer uppers or in more rural areas.
Oh no.. this country girl has no place in the big city..My current house cost me $6 K and it is paid for. I just dont know how people pay for these expensive homes and still have money to eat and function in life. I realize that the cost of living varies according to where you live.

It cost you how much???? Is that $6,000??? Must be a typo! You cannot get a rental for much less than $1000 a month here! LOL. When I say "rural areas", I mean not in NYC or our bigger citites....more country for NY. NYC prices are unbelievable. A rent in NYC averages over $3000 a month (for say a 2 bedroom)!
(Excuse the typo in my last message. I meant, "....in my neck of the woods."
lol well I dont live in a pop up trailer although I have thought about it. This deal was something I fell into , someone needed to sell it and I needed a somewhere to live so I paid 250/month until it was paid for. But I have ran across these deals several times in this area. We had to put new floors in and we did some renovation on the bath and kitchen areas. There are draw backs to this type of deal. Im looking at my kitchen right now and my cabinet door fell off my bottom cabinets but you know that goes with buying old stuff and fixing it up. We bought this house because we wanted to complete our masters degrees and not worry about someone taking away our house if we got behind on the payments.
I thought the OP meant $60K. New pop-up campers cost $5-7K for a fancy one. Have a hard time believing someone could buy a house for $6K (unless maybe a friend was getting a divorce and wanted to sell it cheap!)
