Why are they are so dang cute?
I have two ones here waiting for their parents and their conversion is like this:
K1: *Sees height measure on wall* I am size 4.
K2: How are you size 4?
K1: *slaps belly* Because of my tummy. My mommy says I'm a size 4 on my pants.
K2: Well I'm a size 5! Because I'm bigger.
K1: Why are you big- bigger?
K2: Because I am 7! I'm going to be 8!
K1: *looks down sadly* I wish I was 7, I'm only 6.
*K2 hugs K1 and consoles him.*
K2: I wish I was 8 too.

my pre k kiddo was bored waiting for his mom so he decided he was a chicken and wanted to eat my arm and leg while I was charting. Then when that game got old he turned his white jacket into a ghost costume. I don't think he was feeling as sick as his teachers let on.

Ugh! I love the little guys!!
I had one tell the PE teacher today that he didn't feel good so she sent him to me. Convo went something like this:
Me: whats wrong buddy?
Kinder: well, I was outside andandandand, we were running and the air was really cold. I didn't like that!
Me: so do you feel bad?
Kinder: no, it was just really cold!
Me: so you needed to come see me because you got cold outside?
Kinder: yeah. I didn't like it!!
Me: me either bud. ME. EITHER.
He was good to go after hanging with me and warming up. I can relate to his complaint so much too! Running and the cold aren't my thang and I'm certainly not going to do them together!
I had another Kinder one who was jumping around my office one day, kicking in the air and punching. I watched him for a few minutes and he finally noticed me and he just smiles and says, "I'm a POWEAH WANGER!" He wants to be the red one. Good choice muffin, good choice.
Do you have any good stories of students?

I've got a kinder & a 5th grader each on a little bed in the same room. I am helping another student as I hear a tiny voice whisper scolding "I said stay quiet. Quiet!" I peek in "what's going on?" Little one points at the older one "he won't stop moving, and he's really annoying me, and he's not really sick he's just pretending. If he was really sick he wouldn't be moving so much." This kid has a LOT of opinions. Some more gems from him: told me that you have to be "real close" to someone to get sick from them because "germs don't have feet, they just have little flippy floppies to flop on over to you," and he says his dad is sick because "mom gets sick then dad won't stop hugging her so he gets sick from her. I tell dad STOP HUGGING MOM, but he just keeps hugging her. I don't know why. He just can't stop hugging mom."
Omg... so cute!
I had a student who was scared of me the first time he met me. He cried and I asked, why are you crying? "I'm scared of the doctor!" he cried, and I smiled and explained that I'm not a doctor, I'm the "School nurse" (Don't kill me, he doesn't know what a medical aide is.) he still cries and I asked him why he's afraid of the doctor. "It's because my dad went to the doctor and he poked him inside his butt and he said it hurts. I don't want to be poked inside my butt!"
I swear I never laughed so hard in my life, on what I heard. I asked him do you mean shots? He said "no, that the doctor used his fingers and his dad said it hurt like a b***ch."
I tried so hard not to laugh, and told him that's a bad word and we don't use words like this and told him I wasn't going to do this at all. After calming him, I called his parents to talk to him about his issue (I think he just had a stuffy nose) and his mom talked to him and he left. I told his mother what he told me and she laughed so hard and apologized that his son hears things when he's not suppose to and it's a habit of his to repeat what he hears.
He's now in 1st and he loves me so much, but I still remember him as the butt doctor kid. xD

My favorite conservation this year was with a pre-k kiddo.
Him: We put white lights on our tree last night.
Me: I have white lights on my tree
Him: (looking all around the small office)... where's your tree???
Me: At my house
Him: You have a house???
Me: Yes, it's where I live.
Him: But you live here. Your bed is right there (points to cot).

This is 100%, how many of these kids think I live here!
Then again, I was like this too. I thought my teacher lived in her classroom under the desk until my mother started to working at my school and we would be family friends with them. She's now been working at my old elementary school for 20 years.
