Hi Everyone!
I am currently in the RN to BSN Program. I am looking to see who else is currently in the program or just finished so we can share some experiences as we go through it! I just finished Technical Writing and Transition to Professional Nursing. They were the easiest As I've ever received. I struggled with meeting deadlines though. You really do need to stay on top of assignments and not wait until the last minute like I did a few times. I found the courses easy as long as you completed everything. I also thought the content and assignments were great. I learned a lot. Grading was easy as long as you follow the rubric.
I start Legal Policy and Promoting Healthy lifestyles next on July 3rd. Has anyone taken these? Legal sounds intimidating but I'm hoping it's not too bad. I like that it uses the same book we have already purchased for Transition to Professional nursing.
Woohooo! I am now officially enrolled in my Capstone at UTA as of yesterday. I am almost done, thank heavens. I have enjoyed the program for the most part, it has been a little redundant though. Who else is taking their Capstone beginning August 14th?Kiki
I am also in the Capstone right now that started August 14th! I am confused as to what they want. Their directions so far don't seem all that clear to me! How about you??
Hello nurses! I am so glad to see this in the forum! I am accepted to UTA under "provisional acceptance," they have all my transcripts, I'm just waiting for them to post my transfer credits.
I'm working in peds home health (private duty for a company); so I am wondering how I would do the Management course since it sounds like they want you to shadow a nurse manager? I have a manager that works in the office and handles several cases, so I suppose I could follow her for the class. How many hours are we supposed to follow a manager for that course?
I know I have to take one history, one government (I believe), and a chemistry class. I have all the english, math, and pretty much everything else done. I haven't registered for classes yet, because I want to see what will transfer.
I'm fully accepted now. And I'm registered for Technical Writing and the co-requisite Professional Nursing. I didn't purchase textbooks, I just rented them. They just didn't seem like the kind of textbooks I'd need later. I could be wrong though.
Are there any classes you all would recommend definitely purchasing the textbooks for?

No, I would rent for all. I also never bought or rented the APA textbook that was required/recommended for the program and made it (almost) through the program with all A's and one B.
Hello,
I recently re-applied to UTA RN-BSN after taking some time off to raise a family. I am wondering how long it took people from this thread from applying to the program to being accepted. I can't remember how long it took last time as it was 4 years ago, hope to hear back from them soon!
Oct 30th was supposed to have been my start date but I procrastinated and didn't take anything all summer, still need last nursing elective and capstone, can't get them both in by end of year unless I double up and I am just not feeling it. good luck to you, and let me know how it goes !!

Not too bad, just a lot of writing papers about your institution, your manager, and your shadowing experience. Make sure you follow the rubric for the PP project as it is 25% of your grade. That project was the most time consuming and it is due the second week of the course. I did not buy the book. Instructors were nice.
