  1. I doubled up every single semester and completed the professional classes in 9 months. I also worked full time during school and passed every course mostly with As and some Bs although I think my biggest issue was turning things in on time as opposed to actually having trouble with the content. Overall I didn't think any of the classes were too difficult. The research course was also pretty easy to pass despite all the comments on the message boards about how hard it is. I think they took feedback into consideration and made it more doable. Good luck! I'm applying to my MSN now because I really loved my experience.
  2. Would love any advice on the Admin MSN!! I am starting next month! Thank you so much! and congrats on completing! Would you describe the program as difficult, easy, moderate? How was the work load while working? I'm excited but so nervous!
  3. Hello, I'm hopefully starting this MSN in Nursing Admin program at UTA next month and was hoping to talk to anyone that has completed the program or is currently in it in regards to work load and comparison to the RN to BSN program if any alumni are in the program. Thanks!
  4. Hi! I just completed Capstone about 3 weeks ago and have completed my BSN requirements at UTA. In my opinion, Capstone was the easiest class of the program. I blew it because I fell behind on week 2 and submitted my journal and assignment more than 5 days late so received a 0 on both assignments. I was SO worried I'd have to drop the class, but I got 100 on every single other assignment and ended up with a high B. The grading was so easy. A couple of the assignments were just in reference to old assignments in the program. It was a great "coming full circle", reflecting on the experience course. Should be an easy A for you if you can keep up. Good luck!
  5. Hi All I am deciding between FNP programs and I did my bachelors from UTA and wanted to continue. However it seems like a much longer FNP program than other online programs. How did you all decide to go with UTA? Thank you!
  6. I applied to the FNP program at UTA starting in May as well. I am still deciding between other programs though. It seems like UTA is a lot longer than other online FNP programs. Did you have any other reasons for choosing this particular one? I graduated with my BSN from UTA so for that reason want to stick with it but the time seems a lot longer compared to 2 year programs.
  7. I just completed my last class in the program and graduate in May. It didn't seem very competitive when I was accepted. You have to have a RN license and transcripts sent, I had all my pre reqs done but my GPA was maybe a 3.0 at the most and I got in with no issues.
  8. I'm hating research and management and regretting taking both of them at the same time! UGH! I'm taking capstone in January too! I have legacy after this term and then capstone plus vulnerable pops in January and then I'm done. But getting through this term is a struggle. Good luck to you!I didn't realize there was a test we could take to get out of an elective. Maybe I should drop legacy and do co-op. But I don't work at a hospital...I'm a clinical trainer so I travel weekly for work and most of my job is independent so I'm not sure if that could work. I will check it out.
  9. Lj63- LOL I thought it would be a breeze as well. But I still liked it because I learned some stuff compared to some of our other classes. So it didn't feel like I was wasting time doing busy work or discussing articles. Definitely hated the whole suffix prefix dissecting the word thing. I still don't understand the splitting the words up with hyphens thing...I got them all wrong. Thank god those weren't on our tests or I wouldn't have passed. I just started management and research and I can't believe how much work. 4 assignments in module 1. Seriously. And why are assignments not due on Sunday instead of Saturday. That makes no sense to me. Like at least give us the weekend.
  10. Hi! I'm in my last week of medical terminology. I recommend it because you actually learn a lot of useful information no matter what field of nursing you are practicing in. It's less busy work than the other classes. There are no discussion posts. As long as you take the tests during the assigned period, everything else you can do at your own pace which are just activities to get you ready for the tests. 92% of your grade is testing. 8% are the activities that are basically just practice questions you take online that helps to boost your grade because you just have to complete them. I take legacy at the end of the semester, haven't heard much. Good luck!
  11. I really want to get it over with! I'm in legal now too and it's not as bad as I expected it to be. The grading is easy. How was legacy and medical terminology? Good luck to you! My company is paying but then I have to stay on with them 2 years or repay all of it so I don't know what's going to happen, just going to keep pushing through for now.
  12. Ya I completely get it. I haven't kept up at all. I've been doing all my assignments the day they're due. And some of them I've done the day after and taken the late penalty just because I've fallen behind. I don't think the assignments themselves are difficult, it's just staying on top of them. Good luck!!! Let's keep in touch so we can keep pushing eachother!
  13. That's great!! The legal class I'm taking now is a breeze. The grading isn't difficult at all. Health promotions is more work I think but still easy. I'm nervous about research and management. Do you have to shadow and nurse manager for the management course?
  14. That's awesome! I took all my pre reqs 10 years ago after high school and they were all accepted so I've only had to do the nursing classes. Did you take 2 classes at a time? I'm trying to figure out how many credits I'm allowed to take in the fall. I just want it done asap. Hey love- are research and holistic the first nursing courses you're taking in the program? I was told to start with transitions and tech writing.
  15. Taking one class at a time you'll do fine! Yes it seems like all the classes are set up that way. There is a lot of reading but honestly I've been getting away with not going through all of it besides what I need for the assignments and it's been okay. I actually wish I had more time to read everything because it's interesting. But I'm just too busy with work. If you take 1 class at a time, you're in good shape! I'm taking two at a time and I've still maintained an A in every class. I've taken 2 and am on the second week of the next two and so far so good. You do have to keep up with the assignments but they're not too time consuming. Good luck!
