  1. For those of you that have already taken a nursing elective such as Co-op, med term, legacy of family, which one do you all recommend taking and why. I am going to take one in the upcoming Nov class.
  2. also voice your opinion if you dont feel ready. Like they have said, dont risk the pt's or your license. Dont forget to ask questions, or for help if you need it.
  3. we have the gait belts, we use the slide tech to get them to the ground if we have them and they fall. we use alarms to help us know when they are trying to get up and hopfully get to them first.
  4. 52 grads with 9 being male in my class. I dont think it will ever get 50/50 but we can hope. Im the only male on my nursing unit on any shift.
  5. ive been in nursing since I was 24. As far as.. 1. yes, but ive gotten over that. ive been in the biz for almost 10 yrs. I dont think it will change. 2. I like my co-workers for the most part, as in every profession. The biggest problem I have is that one some days im in charge and am amost 1/2 the age as some of my co-workers which they need to get use to. 3. I really enjoy what I do. Ive done other things and keep coming back to this so im guessing its where I belong.
  6. Inpt Rehab, but i also work in med/surg, ortho, peds, oncology, so I get around.
