2017 CURRENT RN to BSN Online Students

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am currently in the RN to BSN Program. I am looking to see who else is currently in the program or just finished so we can share some experiences as we go through it! I just finished Technical Writing and Transition to Professional Nursing. They were the easiest As I've ever received. I struggled with meeting deadlines though. You really do need to stay on top of assignments and not wait until the last minute like I did a few times. I found the courses easy as long as you completed everything. I also thought the content and assignments were great. I learned a lot. Grading was easy as long as you follow the rubric.

I start Legal Policy and Promoting Healthy lifestyles next on July 3rd. Has anyone taken these? Legal sounds intimidating but I'm hoping it's not too bad. I like that it uses the same book we have already purchased for Transition to Professional nursing.

Hi there. I also started my Capstone August 14th. I am quite unsure of what they want in the weekly journal for sure! How are you coming along?

I see you got your BSN, wondered if you could tell me how Capstone was for you?? I just started it and the directions seem very vague. Journal topic, key points, discussion boards with all these citations, powerpoint with presentation and APA paper. I am at the very end of the program, have done well all A's except for Research but now feel a meltdown coming due to Capstone. Any advice?? Lj

Capstone sucked actually because you don't have direction. I made a 100 in it though. It isn't hard, but they give you absolutely NO direction so you are 100% on your own!! It is frustrating, but you will be fine!

Hi! I just completed Capstone about 3 weeks ago and have completed my BSN requirements at UTA. In my opinion, Capstone was the easiest class of the program. I blew it because I fell behind on week 2 and submitted my journal and assignment more than 5 days late so received a 0 on both assignments. I was SO worried I'd have to drop the class, but I got 100 on every single other assignment and ended up with a high B. The grading was so easy. A couple of the assignments were just in reference to old assignments in the program. It was a great "coming full circle", reflecting on the experience course. Should be an easy A for you if you can keep up. Good luck!

I have no idea what they're talking about when they say Nursing Education, Nursing Administrator, or Nurse Practitioner for Module 1. Just want to get this stuff done!

Have you received any clarification for these capstone assignments? How was the grading been?

Do you remember if you needed to use the textbook in the Nursing Research class? Was the study guide needed? They list both as requirements.
