Curious about the 48 hour wait

Hello again. Excellent question! I'm not really sure. Just think it's funny that it's often 48 hours on the dot. Few of my friends found the same thing. I tested at 8 am on a Saturday and was up early Monday morning checking Quick Results. At 7:59, no dice! At 8:00, bingo!

Reminds me of that scene from Dumb and Dumber where Jim Carrey is at the gas station talking to the chick who rambles a lot. While trying to get her phone number, he accidentally ignites his pants. Not wanting to call attention to himself, he tries to grin and bear it and end the conversation so he could extinguish himself. When the girl keeps talking, he blurts out, 'Just give me the @$%&^!# number!'

There were a few points during that morning where I wanted to call Pearson Vue up and tell someone to just give me the #%&^*% result. :)

Edited to add: At least it's not weeks or months like it was for some of our more experienced nurses. Can you imagine?

i called oklahoma bon about 17 hrs after my test and they gave me my results

does anyone actually know why pearson takes 48 hours to post test results? i mean, i see that my test was "delivered" successfully (to somewhere) about five hours after i took it.

a computer grades it. i can't see that much administration involved at all.

what's the rest of the delay?

try callin your bon tomorrow morning who know's i called and was able to get my result over the phone after 24 hours.

LOL! I'm feeling a bit of that myself. I don't care what the beaurocracy says, they KNOW my results, GIVE THEM TO ME! I have little patience for government offices of any type, I'm afraid.

A friend of mine took her test in a stadium with 500 others. It took, I believe, 3 months to find out her results. I think I'd need some serious mood stabilizers LOOOONG before then.

no dice. in ny, they tell you nothing over the phone except to call pearson if you're that interested. you can check the state's website to see if your name pops up on a search of rns; that's the only way you'll know if you don't contact pearson (or wish to wait for the paper to arrive in the mail).

and since it's at least a week, frequently longer, before your name gets on the website.....i'm paying the eight bucks at 8 am friday

Doesn't matter that your results are delivered to your Board of Nursing. Pearson-Vue has nothing to do with what is done when they receive the results, but they have a set time to post them when the state permits it.

I get that, I just wonder why that "set time" must be 48 hours (for "unofficial" results, no less) when they clearly know well before that. It's not as if there's a concern that my license will be issued before that posting; it's WELL after.

It seems like an arbitrary time, is what I was suggesting.

Ok, that sounds reasonable. Makes me only a HAIR more patient, though!
