CT-CCNP 2020/2021 APPLICATION

Published

OK, let's get ready to rumble...

I'm applying to Gateway's program this coming fall.

A&P 1: A

Nursing GPA: will be about a 3.6 when I complete all the requirements. I took all the co-requisites or they transferred from my previous degrees. I have two B+'s and one C and I don't think it's financially wise to re-take them, because Gateway said they will take the average of the two grades and that won't bump me up too much, so it is what it is.

TEAS to be taken Oct 2020. Goal score 80 or better, hopefully I will only take it once.

They said at orientation they have 96 seats and get close to 1000 applicants ?

Nursing will be a 2nd career for me. I know they look at my whole educational background, and I have a 3.388 (cum laude) for my BS and a 3.504 for my MA. No F's but I have two C's and one D+ in there. Hoping they see these grades were earned almost 20 years ago and don't count it against me too much.

Study hard and good luck everyone!

I don't have a back-up plan right now but I want to start brainstorming something not too expensive or time-consuming if I don't make it.

Hi. Did they call or email you? Or both? How long do you have to respond to accept or decline the seat?

Hi. I hope that you've heard back by now. I'm #25. Hoping to receive the call soon.

Hi! I received an email saying I was accepted about 2 after the initial email came out on 4/10. I replied back inquiring if I was indeed accepted as the letter didn’t say I was being pulled of the waitlist. She replied back that she wanted to set up an interview to determine if I would be an appropriate fit to join the 3rd cohort. So the call I received was only for the interview. I received my contract and it said they needed it within 2 wks.

Oh okay! What kind of questions did they ask you?

Thank you for letting me know!

They wanted to know my previous nursing experience. They want the bridging LPN to have the appropriate amount of experience to skip the first year. I don’t know if they do interviews for non LPNs. I would be sure to check email at least 2/3x per week!

Hey yall I emailed ------------------ from gateway, they are still at 17 on the waitlist!

I’m 164 on the list I might as well hang it up and apply somewhere else

Are they still bridging LPNs? I heard they were not going to do the bridge due to covid.

Yea they are still bridging LPNs. NCC accepted 8. COVID wouldn’t affect it if they are doing the regular program there’s no difference we just don’t start till next fall.

OH I see. Thanks

Hey all. Anyone have ANY info on the TEAS for this fall? There's no dates listed for CT, unless I'm doing something incorrect. The pre-nursing advisors just keep telling me to put norwalk cc to see the list of dates but I'm not seeing that option. The only option that was listed was in Shelton in Oct and its saying sold out. Ugh. I'm wondering if anyone else in encountering this or if maybe I'm doing something wrong. Help!

OMG. I knew I should’ve signed up really early.... That’s crazy. I’m gonna call them because if a lack of TEAS tests means I can’t apply for nursing school this year, we’re gonna have a big problem.
