CT-CCNP 2020/2021 APPLICATION

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

OK, let's get ready to rumble...

I'm applying to Gateway's program this coming fall.

A&P 1: A

Nursing GPA: will be about a 3.6 when I complete all the requirements. I took all the co-requisites or they transferred from my previous degrees. I have two B+'s and one C and I don't think it's financially wise to re-take them, because Gateway said they will take the average of the two grades and that won't bump me up too much, so it is what it is.

TEAS to be taken Oct 2020. Goal score 80 or better, hopefully I will only take it once.

They said at orientation they have 96 seats and get close to 1000 applicants ?

Nursing will be a 2nd career for me. I know they look at my whole educational background, and I have a 3.388 (cum laude) for my BS and a 3.504 for my MA. No F's but I have two C's and one D+ in there. Hoping they see these grades were earned almost 20 years ago and don't count it against me too much.

Study hard and good luck everyone!

I don't have a back-up plan right now but I want to start brainstorming something not too expensive or time-consuming if I don't make it.

Does anyone know how transferred classes are added to the GPA? For example I've taken Chemistry (B-) at Housatonic and Art History (A) at Three Rivers or do they add it as a credit. I hope not

Every class associated with the ADN degree is added into your GPA. I don't think Art will be added in.

Wouldn't art be an elective?

I looked at the info packet. For gateway, it would. So those classes would be apart of your nursing GPA.

Thank you!

Also, an advisor told me that if you have multiple classes that meet the elective requirement, they will take the one with the highest grade when calculating the GPA.

OH really? Thanks for the info!

Has anyone heard from gateway or reached out to them about where they are on the waitlist. I emailed on 5/5 and got a response at that time that they were not contacting waitlisted students yet.

Has anyone else been contacted by the school that you are waitlisted at or heard anything?

Hi! Yea I was called off the waitlist from NCC. I was informed that it depends on if a student that was accepted decides not to continue in the program. That seat then opens for someone who was on the list.

I emailed them on the 7th and no response yet what number on the waitlist are you I’m 164 ??

Hi. Did they call or email you? Or both? How long do you have to respond to accept or decline the seat?
