CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

Looking to apply this month for Summer 2020! Anyone else on the same boat? I am currently taking my last class so I expect to update my transcript when grades are posted mid-Decemeber. Anyone from previous cohorts had an issue with this?

I'm a little anxious about my points- I'm in the low 30s but hopefully it will be less competitive in Summer/fall!

Specializes in Burn ICU.

Did anybody get nutrition waived for a class that they took at a CC? My "degree planner" says I have to take BIOL-323, but on my evaluation it said the class I took at my CC substituted this class. Do you think I will have to retake nutrition? I know for some schools you have to take "Upper division nutrition" and a CC class doesnt satisfy that requirement. I hope this isn't the case because I was planning on not repeating nutrition. ?

Hi, you do not need to repeat nutrition. I was in the same boat and they just have you drop the class. The unit requirement for upper div GE courses taken through CSUSM is fulfilled by your philosophy and anthropology courses.

Oh, okay! That’s good news, thank you.

Who’s start fall2020, what month did you get Your accepted letter ? What was your score?

Received my acceptance letter on May 5. Score 37

I got my evaluation 05/10, its only 26 points. I will try to retake TEAS at June...I got only 80. How many times we can apply to this program?

I received it early March, applied after the deadline for Summer 2020. Got 42 points.

Has anybody received any updates regarding the cohort 37? Will the classes be online or on campus? When is our orientation date?

Thank you in advance.

I'm curious whether anyone recently got in to start in FALL? I got in for Spring 2021 (applied originally for Fall though). Still hoping for a tiny chance someone will drop out to start in fall , LOL.

Also , what areas of San Diego are you guys living in? Are you waiting to move until you start on campus classes and clinicals (since fall is online)? My lease is up in August, so I'm kind of in limbo with the pandemic messing everything up...

I was admitted to Fall 2020 on May 20'th.

I live at the base of Alpine approximately an hour from campus. Since Fall is supposed to be online I am not worried about the drive. I also have family all over San Diego and can crash at their houses if I am particularly exhausted.

I’ll be dropping my spot, I got accepted to a CC close-ish to my area, so I’ll be going there!

Hey,

did you all see the price breakdown for the fall cohort el fees? Some are not explained...

like what is an AESS fee? Or IRA fee? They amount to $840 a year. Just wondering if anyone knew what those fees were or if you were aware.

also what do you all think about nursing students future. A lot of nursing schools have stopped to a halt indefinitely. I'm wondering, worst comes to worse, we spend a couple thousand on classes until our school screeches to a halt as well with no graduation date intended...

just some thoughts I had, would love to hear feedback!

Do you know which schools have stopped indefinitely? My prediction is classes will be a combination of online and In person while social distancing and wearing masks. I have seen a couple nursing students on Youtube , who are already back in nursing school doing this. But they are not in California. Just wishful thinking.

Hey Duke,

if you're in San Diego...city college, Grossmont, and college of the desert closed applications and their nursing programs indefinitely.

I hope so! I would not want to be half through CSUSan Marcos and have to wait to finish.
