CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi, Starting this for anyone applying to the FALL 2020 cohort at CSUSM. I think the deadline is March 11th. Good luck everyone!

I wonder if people who had planned to go to CSUSM for Summer 2020, will decide to go somewhere else for fall instead. I imagine not everyone will keep their spot since it changes timing and locations. I still say there might be some open spots opening up. I find it strange that they haven't sent us any official emails with the info that Fall 2020 is getting pushed back. Since we already paid the app fee and had all our transcripts sent, evals, etc. The least they could do is let us know, besides having to personally email them. Will they refund our app fees? I might apply to other schools for Spring if it is being pushed back, even though I really wanted to live in the San Diego area...

I noticed this change on the CSUSM ABSN website under "Apply Now"... they no longer state the deadline of August 5th for the Spring 2021 cohort deadline. Instead offering info for Summer 2021 cohort.

Hopefully we will hear something "official" about our Fall 2020 applications soon!

No one really knows anything, even people in the program currently. There is a lot going on and a lot to decide, the least we can do is be patient. People probably will give up their spot and some people might be able to jump into cohort 37. I highly doubt they will refund the app fee, they are non refundable, you still applied, and are still being considered. Other nursing schools are pushing their cohorts back similarly, so Spring will be about the same at many schools.

As for the refund, they might -- considering that they refunded the people who applied for the Fall 2020's Temecula location when it switched to San Marcos.

I received my eval yesterday from them. Didn't say anything about pushing Fall 2020 to Spring...

Did they email it to you or did you have to check through CSUSM?

Also, I did email them about possible delay for Fall 2020 and my advisor did say Fall 2020 is being pushed back to Spring 2021. However, they’ve closed Spring 2021 application period.

Due to the setbacks is anyone planning to take nutrition or the other required nursing course they accept for transfer (online)? If so, where at? I'm thinking I should try and get ahead start. ...anyone else? Thoughts?

They emailed me. They gave me credit for nutrition I took elsewhere.

Nice! Can you share our pm where you took the nutrition? I'd love to get it out the way. ..while sheltering in place LOL.

Hi! That’s what I've decided to do as well. I’m taking Nutrition class at Geneva College, which they deliver online through Portage Learning.

I took Nutrition at Mesa Community College and it was accepted.
