Effective Fall 2018, Sac State is changing their Selection Criteria for Admissions into the BSN program. I've created this thread for those folks that are planning on applying Fall 2018 to ask questions, share their thoughts, etc. I'm interested to know if the changes make it easier or harder to get accepted. I myself was planning on applying Fall 2018 but may decide to apply Spring 2018 if it's "easier" before the new changes are put into effect.
The selection criteria changes include NEW:
 Admission Point Assignments
 Minimum Admission Point Total
 Minimum Science GPA
 Adjusted Nursing GPA
 Standard Units
 Repeat Policy
 TEAS Points
 Optional Criteria Points

I totally agree with the above statements. I can see why she is taking a while to post the statistics because of the large applicant pool, but sending one email to the applicants can stop everyone's worries.
Let's just hope that the statistics come out before this week ends. I don't think I can wait any longer...
I also have another question/comments and would like to know your guys' opinion or thoughts on this since we are all in the same nerve wracking boat :/
I applied to another school along with CSUS and got accepted into their nursing program. The school is 2 hours away from where I currently live which will cause me to move and that is already such a stress and hassle expense wise (that is why it is my second option). While waiting for a response from csus, I will submit/accept my admission into the nursing program to save my spot until I hear back from Sac State since it is my first option. The major concern I have is, since we are already dealing with a huge delay in terms of being notified, is there a possibility we will not find out if we have been accepted or rejected (along with preliminary stats) until after May 1st? I know we are supposed to know by the end of this month but since there is a large applicant pool it is taking longer than expected. I am also a transfer student and the intent to enroll is due to both universities by May 1st. Are we allowed to accept admission into two schools at once? I do not want to lose my spot into a nursing program if I do not get into Sac State. I have no idea what the rules and regulations are regarding this. If anyone has dealt with this or could direct me to any counselor from a certain department at Sac State please let me know!
Also, since I am a transfer student, I know I will not be able to pick classes until orientation in June-July. Is anyone else a transfer student?
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance lol! :)

My prediction is that the official email will also be delayed, and may come later than May 1st. Since the stats is two weeks late, the official admission letter may be late also.
I think you should email Teri about the ITE question you have. Make sure your subject is "CONCERN". I know you live far away, but going to an advising session is helpful! When I went, she basically stayed there an extra 1.5hrs just to answer admission questions.
But yeah, you should reserve the spot for other nursing programs your accepted into as a back up!
Hi there! My name is Amanda and I'm a current first semester nursing student at Sac State. I was accepted in the Spring 2018 cycle. I had the same questions back then so I thought I could help you out.
So yes, you can accept spots at multiple nursing schools while you wait on the acceptance. I was accepted to Stanislaus program much earlier that the preliminary results for Sac were released. Save your spot! Just in case. The downside is Stan requires a 200 intent to enroll fee that is due before you will find out if you get into Sac state. I called an advocates that other schools waive that fee until all acceptances are out, but they weren't biting lol. I paid it, others who are in the Sac program with me say they didn't. So how much risk you want to take there, or what you can afford to risk is up to you.
Also as far as being a transfer student, I was too. The school of nursing registers you in all your courses. If you have any other general ed to take I would recommend waiting until a later semester to take them because you will have 12 units and be overwhelmed as is. But good luck, and I'm sure you will be fine :) just enjoy your summer the best you can before you start your nursing process. Hope I helped a little.
Hello,
Has anyone else seen an update like this on their my.csus?
Under the Application Status section, it says "overdue... transcript request... initiated". I sent in my transcripts electronically with verification of receipt. I did not send in the Los Rios transcripts which are retrieved by CSUS admissions. I am thinking it is part of their sorting status.
Good luck in the waiting process

Well said and exactly what I have thought. I can't imagine how stressful her job is, but if the applications are all sent online and the points are automatically calculated wouldn't it seem like they would know the point cut-offs much sooner since it could be filtered. I am wondering if some of the applications are already undergoing evaluation to make sure the point cut-off is somewhat accurate.
