CSUS Sacramento State Fall 2018

Published

Effective Fall 2018, Sac State is changing their Selection Criteria for Admissions into the BSN program. I've created this thread for those folks that are planning on applying Fall 2018 to ask questions, share their thoughts, etc. I'm interested to know if the changes make it easier or harder to get accepted. I myself was planning on applying Fall 2018 but may decide to apply Spring 2018 if it's "easier" before the new changes are put into effect.

The selection criteria changes include NEW:

 Admission Point Assignments

 Minimum Admission Point Total

 Minimum Science GPA

 Adjusted Nursing GPA

 Standard Units

 Repeat Policy

 TEAS Points

 Optional Criteria Points

See info here:

What was the point cut off before the waiting list?

It should still be 80 points since the person in seat 80 had 80. Seat 80 would still be considered #5 on the waitlist.

I have to submit a correction for my application so I don't know where I stand on the waitlist or in the program.

Does anyone have 77 points, and if so, are you in the program or waitlisted? (if waitlisted, what number are you at?)

I believe someone else on this thread had 77 points and they are alternate #38

I am hoping that lots of people decline. It has been my dream to attend Sac state's nursing program. I am so close, yet so far! The statistics are in my favor, but with the way things have gone this year who knows!!

I'm in the same boat lol. Good luck!

@justintimkim Good luck to you as well!

78 points, but yeah I'm #38

Good luck! Talking with friends and family, I think I will be declining my offer to attend a program in the Bay area. Clinicals in my home area where I want to work is too good to pass up. Hopefully this semester works out better than Spring did for you!!

Hey you guys! I also am admitted to sac states nursing program. However, I am thinking about declining my spot to attend a nursing program in my local area. Good luck to everyone!

Hi guys,

I also got accepted and am planning to move to Sacramento in the fall. I am looking for roommates, if any of you are interested. Girls only.

Alternate #22 for me. Crossing my fingers lol. Did anyone apply for the economic background points and get this in the comments section: Economic Background - Copy of FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) must be on file with the University. Please see Optional Criteria guide for more detailed information, http://www.csus.edu/hhs/nrs/programs/undergraduate/traditional/docs/opt_crit.pdf. Late documentation will not be considered."?

I definitely submitted my FAFSA, but I'm not sure if that's just what everyone's comment looks like if they weren't awarded the 4 points.

Also, are there 75 seats or 80 seats for the program? I'm confused because when I look at previous statistics, 77 are enrolled...not 80.

Thanks in advance and congrats to those already accepted!

According to one of my nursing friends, she told me that sometimes not all of the 80 nursing students pass their first semester, so they have to repeat and take some of the available seats.

So I have 79 points, and I am waitlist #14. I don't know how good my chances will be. Anyone accepted to Sac State, but plan to go to another school? hehe

I think your chances are pretty good! I got accepted, but will be declining as I got into my first choice program. From other responses, seems like quite a few people are also declining. Good luck!

Hi guys, I think it'd be a good idea to create a Facebook page for our cohort. Thoughts?
