CSUN 2016 ABSN

Hi Everyone! I was searching around and couldn't seem to find a thread for the spring and fall 2016 ABSN program at CSUN. Hopefully we can use this thread to talk to and support each other as we go on this crazy journey :D

Has anyone received any news yet? I called yesterday and they pretty much said we just have to wait. She said we can hear anywhere from now till the Fall cohort begins. Im super anxious but making an effort to stay positive. Wishing the best for all of us on the alternate list.:)

I haven't received anything yet. Hopefully soon we will:)

I'm going to be accepting a spot at an adn program just in case, I was hoping we'd hear sooner since it seemed like several people gave up their spots but I guess the wait continues

Nope! I just realized this is going to be the last of this thread...no CSUN ABSN 2017.

I just called again right now. They said they have not pulled anyone from the alternate list yet, I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. There were a few people who said they would be turning down the admissions so I would think they would have selected a few people already. Last year the people on the alternate list got in on the 24th, Im hoping that will be the case this year. This wait has me so stressed out :(

That's odd they would say that because one person on this thread got the acceptance letter and she was on the alternate list. I can't believe they can't even tell us where we rank on the alternate list.

Thats exactly what I thought :confused:. I wish we knew where we ranked and how many people are in the list aside from the people on the thread.

Every time I tell people that I'm on the alternate list, they ask what #......and I have to say I don't know, they just said we are in a "pool of alternates", to which I get a "that sucks/that's messed up". I do think we should at least know where we rank so that we can see if we're really close to be being selected or if we're the last person on the list. I'm sure they have a ranking, I don't think it's going to be lottery situation where they really draw out of a pool.

I just don't know why they haven't selected anyone else from the list aside from one person on the thread. Im wondering if people who said they were going to another school ended up staying or if their spot have already been covered by people on the list that are not on the thread. It's unfortunately that we might not find out till August because its difficult to make plans like that. Hopefully next week :unsure:
