CSUN ABSN 2015

Published

I noticed that there wasn't a thread posted for CSUN ABSN 2015 yet so I thought I'd start one I'm currently a student at CSUN finishing my BA in psychology (I will be graduating this December). I can hardly wait to start nursing school! I wanted to start this thread so us CSUN applicants can get to know each other.

I called the office this morning and they said that they will be in fact sending Fall cohort acceptances into mid-April. They haven't sent out very many as of yet and they'll notify us via email through the same email address we put on our apps. Also, they are open and will be sending out batches of notifications during spring break.

There's still hope for those of us who haven't heard!! And congrats to those who have been accepted :)

it's so frustrating... i'm trying to get my driver's ID and car insurancearrow-10x10.png cleared, but haven't been able to reach anyone since Thursday. I wish the department was faster in helping me set this straight.

It feels like we're being drafted- first round, second round, third round picks lol. I'm guessing this is their way to avoid a waiting list? Giving people a short amount of time to reply in order to know how many more they can still accept. The waiting game continues.

yeah it's quite frustrating especially since I need to reply to this other school very very soon, but I'm holding off for CSUN and I was really hoping to know by the end of this month. :( This is really a test of patience for everyone haha. But thanks for the update about this morning @anklowss!

i'm not sure whether there's 1st or 2nd round... it is a common practice at many schools. i managed to get in touch witharrow-10x10.png someone in the office. the faculty and the department are very supportive, but they are just very busy, please be patient, i'm sure they're doing their best.

don't worry too much.. my stats were definitely not super high. i retook chem lecture portion and got a B+ on the chem lab. the rest were all A's. I had around 150 hrs of volunteering, but do not have EMT/CNA certification. My recommendations came from 2 RNs and a science professor.

Hi All!

Has anyone heard anything?

Thanks guys. This is killing me:roflmao:. I guess I have to take my own advice that I give my kids. Be patient and relax:)

I think the school has a holiday today, Cesar Chavez day.

to current CSUN students and classmates: when should we be expecting our financial aid award?

I was accepted to CSUN's fall cohort last Thursday!! Such an exciting moment. I also got into Cal State LA's ABSN two days earlier. It's been a huge decision, but definitely not the worst problem to have! I've decided to go with Cal State LA because I am secured a spot in their NP program as long as I pass the NCLEX. It's an opportunity I couldn't bring myself to pass up!

So as much as it has pained me to do this, I just notified the nursing department at CSUN that I will be giving up my seat in the fall cohort. I'm glad that one more person who has been patiently waiting will be able to take my spot this fall! Good luck everyone!!!
