CSULB Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for the upcoming spring admission, so I thought I should start one. Who is applying to CSULB this upcoming semester for spring 2020? I've finished all my pre-requisites. I just need to take TEAS which I am taking in early June. I would love to hear from other applicants and current CSULB nursing students.

Hope to hear back from you all and good luck :)!

Hi does anyone know how to order a drug test on Castle Branch?

Do we need to do the background check? I emailed ***** twice last week but haven’t heard back. I remember them saying something along the lines of it being done before we were accepted, but I could be wrong.

I ordered one when buying the tracker, but you could be right. I don’t see anything about the background check on the ppts either. I think it’s better to wait until they reply before spending more money buying it ?

Thank you for sharing, but I’m floored that I never received any handouts. Is this code for trimester, semester or both? Was there any other documents given that day? I’m so confused as to when and where this was given!

They must have run out when giving it out? They just sent stacks of the same paper to pass along, so I do believe it is the same code. I just tried using the semester code, and it didn’t work, so I think everyone uses the trimester one (Edit: there might be a different semester code but I don’t know what it might be)

I don’t think anything else was passed out except the ones to buy the scrubs and other equipment! Did you get that form?

i Heard back from Nancy just now and she said do the background check with code CB76BC, I haven’t looked into it yet and not sure if it’s different from semester. But oddly they didn’t mention it at all in orientation or on the power point? They handed out both papers for semester and trimester but didn’t print enough, I think they thought we would take a picture. Semester is different code.
which drug test are you all doing? I want to make sure I’m doing the correct one since there are choices.

I ordered the trimester BG check a week ago so I’m hoping it’s the same, but I’ll email soon to check. I got the LP89dt 12-panel drug test since it was the only option not under a different specialization.

I'm trying to order the drug test but I can't find it in my requirements. Where did you guys find it? Also, does anyone know when they will let us know our class schedule? They have only uploaded the schedule for the 2nd semester students on beach board.

Wow looks like were all equally confused lol. Does any one elses Castle Branch show, LJ33 0520T next to Clinical Requirements? LJ33im was the code I used, but I am confused as to why it says 0520T if my cohort is 0821T.

I believe they said they were gonna email it to us? And I know they said it takes a while to complete so my guess is their still working on it. But yeah, I am getting anxious to register and know what my schedule is.

Yeah mine shows that too. Not sure why ?

I actually emailed them last week and they said that by the end of the week they were gonna post the schedule but they didn’t. Ugh I really wanna know my schedule because I have to let my job know what’s gonna happen once I start school

Mine says that as well. My assumption is that is the semester they updated the clinical requirements, so maybe until they update it again it will show that code??

Hi all, I’m in the nursing program at CSULB in the cohort above you so I’m going to try and answer some questions!

Background check: yes, you will need to purchase a background check. They may have told you at orientation that they’ve already conducted a background check—I’m sure they did a preliminary one, but you’re still going to have to purchase a background check through CastleBranch.

For the ATI package: the codes are different depending on whether you’re a semester or trimester student. Your code should be in the format of month and year you graduate, followed the letter S for semester or the letter T for trimester.

CastleBranch: if it’s showing you the wrong cohort, don’t worry. It will get changed eventually.

Schedules: I have no idea when you’re going to get your schedules, sorry everyone. If the nursing school says they’ll have something out by a specific date, they just mean they’ll try their best to get it done by then. No guarantees! ? Hopefully you’ll have them soon.

Would anyone be interested if I created a Discord server for us to chat on? I could make it and post a link here (as long as that isn't against TOS for this site?).

As far as I am aware, no one has started a Facebook page, and I think Discord would be conducive to our conversations about school, especially as time goes on and our questions become more diverse (re: specific classes and whatnot). Plus, to be honest, I personally am not a huge fan of Facebook. ?

I know there might be a slight learning curve for some, but I think it would be a great platform for discussion. If at least a few people are interested, I'll go ahead and create it. A Facebook page could always also be created at a later time.
