CSULB Spring 2015

U.S.A. California

Hey everyone,

I want to apply for csulb nursing program for spring 2015 cohort, is there anybody here who is applying for spring also? Do you think spring cohort is easier to get in?

I am a transfer student, yes. I think the University may send out emails first because they are requesting verification of information submitted on the supplemental app. So I would guess it's no cause to worry!

Yes I'm a transfer as well !

Yes I am not worried so much now because i even went onto the post-bac/grad website for the school and it said you will be notified once your program makes the decision since the school wont accept me unless the nursing program does for 2nd bachelors. Did some one say on here that the SON told them they would be sending out emails next week??

I accepted the offer, but was lucky (or impoverished) enough to have my fee waived.

We must realize that these are NOT acceptances into the SON. I went through this same mess last semester.

Admissions sent me the letter of acceptance. Later, I received a denial letter from the SON. About a month after the SON rejection, I received the confirming denial letter from Admissions office. They are not in complete coordination with each other. If the SON denies you, the Admissions office will LATER revoke your acceptance.

But I really don't think anyone will be denied if they made it to the interview...

im also a csulb student and i havent gotten any email, worried too!

Probably because you're already a student at the university. I believe, those of us that got emails were transfer students and need acceptance into CSULB; you're already there. These are not SON acceptance letters. Just verification letters for admittance to the University.

I just called and was told "You would not have been offered admission to the University unless the School of Nursing requested it" and "the only reason we have not sent out emails from the SON is that we are still arranging room assignments for orientation". She ended the phone call with a "Congratulations" so I am taking this is as a 99% yes. Although I will feel infinitely more comfortable if/when I get the email from the SON.

I don't think we have anything to worry about--and I will restate this--because we made it to interview!!!

I'm 100% certain we are all in (or on the Alternate List). I truly do not believe anyone fails the interview unless they simply do not show up, are not who they claimed to be, or cannot properly communicate/speak and write in english.

I don't know if I was the only one who had this concern but I will address it just in case. I didn't know whether or not I should wait to pay the $150 to accept my acceptance to the university since the SON didn't send us the email yet but I called the SON to ask and was told to pay it. As someone already stated here, I was told "we haven't sent out emails yet because we are still looking for a room to hold the orientation in" and she ended the call with a "congratulations."

Basically, if you got the email from the university stating you've been accepted and don't know if you should go ahead and pay the $150, go ahead and pay! (thankfully, my fee got waived!)

How do you know if your fee is waived or not?

When sending in transcripts are you all getting general education certification with it?

When sending in transcripts are you all getting general education certification with it?

For my school (Santa Monica College), CSU certification takes 6 to 8 weeks "officially" (but just called SMC admissions and was told it could be done in as little as 4 weeks :nono:). But because this would not meet the deadline, I just ordered an official transcript online "rushed" to my home and I'll just hand it in to CSULB admissions (called CSULB admin. and was told "sealed official transcripts" are ok to submit in person). I don't want to rely on snail mail for this one. I'll probably request CSU GE Cert. after and have it sent to CSULB so they could update their records (as suggested to me by SMC admin personnel I spoke with).

Hmmm.. So CSULB said it was okay to send them an official transcript (without CSU GE Cert.) by Nov. 12... and then you can send them another transcipt with GE cert. after the deadline? Because I just ordered my transcript from fullerton college and it said it takes 7-10 days to process the transcript with GE cert. So should I send a non-GE certified transcript to CSULB electronically (apparently they will recieve it right away) just in case?
