CSULB-ELMSN Fall 2011

Published

Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Goodluck to everyone. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

That is what I was thinking... Up until about 5 days ago there was no mention of what TEAS version to take in any of the documents on their website. I am hoping they will accept either one. BTW I love how you are on these threads 24/7 you must love nursing as much as I do! :)

Haha, yeah I took a break from the threads for awhile, but now I am on them all the time again : ) Threads are addicting, but so helpful!

I know I love them! Alright so I tried calling Long Beach and got an answering machine saying they are on break till Jan 3rd. Have you already signed up for the teas? When are you taking or planning on taking it?

Ah oh well. No, I havent signed up for the TEAS yet. I was planning to take it at Long Beach in March (signup dates are posted after feb 15th I think), but now since they only offer Version 5, I dont know. Im not sure if version 4 is even offered at any school. I dont want to retake the TEAS until I attend the info session. I think that will tell me whether it is worth it for me to take them again. I certainly dont want to take version 5 and do worse, and have that be the score they count...

Yeah that is so frustrating... because we could have easily taken version 5 instead of version 4 but I checked all of the documents for their masters program and it doesn't mention anywhere what version to take. I honestly didn't even sleep last night because I was thinking about how hard I studied for the last TEAS test and how much I really don't want to go through that again. But I guess I will just have to wait till Jan 3rd because I don't think anyone on this thread is going to know if LB will accept version 4 test. If you find out anything please let me know!

K so after all of my ranting I just got off the phone with LB and they are going to accept either version. They are only administering version 5. So if you are signed up to take the TEAS at Long Beach you will be given version 5.

Hey everyone do you know when the next information session is going to be held. I know it says sometime in Feb. but I was just curious if anyone knew the exact date. I feel like I have been bothering Long Beach a lot... :) and didn't want to send them another email. If anyone finds out please let me know! Thanks.

P.S. The time is flying by 30 days and we can submit our applications aww man I am so fricken excited!!!

I have been checking everyday. Sadly, still no info session postings. I will email long beach tomorrow, its been a few month or so since I last talked to them.

I cant wait to submit applications! By the end of next week I will only have long beach left to complete. Finally!

Awesome!! When will you start hearing back from the schools?

Sometime between march-may. I just emailed long beach, I will let you know when I hear anything.

Are you guys applying to any associate degree programs in addition to the EL-MSN and A-BSN?? Once I finish all my applications I will have applied to 6 El-MSN/A-BSN programs and 4 ADN programs. This may be a little over kill but I'm so nervous about getting in. Do you guys have back up plans or are your pretty confident that you'll be accepted?

Dont worry, I have applied to the same amount of schools you have. : ) However, only one is an ADN and one is a ABSN program. I am definitely not confident that I will be accepted. If im not, my only back up plan is to get a job using my degree and take a CNA course on the side to boost apps for next year!
