CSULB-ELMSN Fall 2011

U.S.A. California

Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Goodluck to everyone. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Hey Malefocker,

I have all the general prereqs done (I believe pharmacology isn't a prereq) and am taking human anatomy and physiology right now, which should finish my science prereqs. I plan on taking the TEAS in February next year so I have time to study for the test.

I want to go to a info session now >_

Me too! Goodluck with your classes and the TEAS. I guess we will all get to meet each other at the info session!

Okay, here is what the coordinator emailed me when I asked if transcripts needed to be received by April 2nd or Nov. 30 (csumentor app date):

"The transcript deadline is 30 days after you submit your application. The university will acknowledge receipt of application within seven days of submission. The acknowledgement will provide you with instructions for transcript submission."

-I received the acknowledgement from csumentor last night, and all it said was to submit transcripts to enrollment services (I went ahead and mailed them today). I am still unsure if additional transcripts are to be sent by April 2...I guess I will find out at the info session : )

Yeah I sent mine in right away when you get the letter through email and by mail (it is the same letter) there is a number you can call on there and it takes you to their automated system. Once you send in your transcripts it will tell you whether or not they have received them or not.

I am looking forward to the info session in Feb!

ill have to call that number and check in a few weeks. thanks!

Hey everyone I had a question...

Do you know what version of the TEAS Long Beach requires?

I believe it is version 5. Thats what the website says. Its a bummer because I had to take version 4 for some other schools. I was planning to retake it in feb anyways though.

I think it is version 5 as well... I took version 4... man I hope I don't have to retake it. I emailed monalisa today... I think she is on christmas break. But it looks like I will have to retake it in Feb as well! That sucks!!!!

I am wondering if that is the only version they offer at CSU Long beach. I was reading another thread and for the basic bsn and they definitely didn't take version 5. I don't know as soon as I find out anything I will let you know! BTW do you know what the difference between version 4 and version 5 is?

I think that beginning Jan 2011 schools are supposedly switching to version 5. Im not sure if it is true for all schools though. On the Elmsn site, it says Version 5 only, which leads me to think that they changed the requirement. Let me know if you hear back from anyone though!!

For version 4 I actually studied from the version 5 book. I also have read alot on the different versions. I know that for version 5 the math, english, and reading is pretty much the same. Version 4 had slightly easier questions than version 5. Also, in the book there certainly is no earth science- ive heard that from other people too. Ive mainly heard that version 5 science section is much harder.

Interesting... I went in and spoke with her and she didn't ask what version I took. I wonder if on the website that means that they only administer version 5. I guess I will just have to wait and hear back from her. My teas score was everything I am praying I don't have to retake it.

I know for a fact that the website did not say version 5 only back in oct and nov. Maybe you are right. Hopefully they will accept both versions. (Too bad that info session isnt in January!) Hmm, that means if I want to boost my score, I will need to take version 5...im curious if you do retake it, and do worse, if you can still use your version 4 score...
