CSULB-ELMSN Fall 2011

Published

Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Goodluck to everyone. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

I got an 87 as well. How did you do on the math section? I kind of want to retake it because I know I can get a higher math score.

I got 90% on the math section. How about you?

Sadly only an 82.

Hmm... well this is a difficult one. I wish I could give you advice. I'm torn myself as to whether to retake it or not.

Yeah, I have been planning for awhile to retake it in march at LB. I know exactly what went wrong for me- and it didnt have to do with my understanding of the math questions. I am very confident that I can get a higher score. My only hesitancy for signing up for the test is that I would solely be taking the test for long beach, since it is the last school I apply to. I want to go to an info session first to make sure that if I raised my score I could have a good shot of getting in with my sci gpa and such...

Good idea. Have they already posted the March test dates? I should sign up for it just in case to save a spot.

The website says that March-April test dates will be posted after February 15th.

I got an 89 overall 97.8 math. My grades are about what average were for the last class I just hope that is enough to get me in

Psy to nurse - When you got your score back what percentage were you in for the program. It should say on your TEAS test results

Also I am a psych major as well going into nursing can't wait to meet all of you!

BTW is anyone taking Pathophysiology or Pharmacology at GWC this semester? I am taking both and it would be nice to know someone in those classes!

Someone earlier posted about how to calculate your score... Here is the calculation below I will do my own.

Science GPA (4 pts) - 3.76 (since this is out of 4 doesn't require any calculations)

Ge GPA (2 pts) - 3.61 /2 = 1.81 (they round up)

TEAS overall (2 pts) - 88.8 x 100 / 2 = 1.78

TEAS Math (2 pts) - 97.8 x 100 / 2 = 1.96

Add them all together and you get your total points out of 10

9.31

I went in and spoke to Monalisa she calculated my score for me she has a computer program she printed out the sheet and handed it to me... Of course you can do on your own. :) If you have any questions let me know.

WOW nice math score!

It says I'm in the 95th percentile for the program and 98th percentile nationally.

Glad to have a fellow psych major!
