CSULB-ELMSN Fall 2011

Published

Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Goodluck to everyone. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Oh, and when I called the number that they claim you can check your app status on, they asked for a PIN after I entered my 9-digit campus ID. I don't remember ever setting up a PIN, so I thought that was weird. Anyone else have this problem, or am I missing something here?

Thanks for your response, SugarNSass. I did receive the notification from the university itself telling me that they received my application. I also did receive that e-mail from the nursing dept. informing me that they received funding for the Fall 2011. I've received nothing after that though, and was wondering if anyone else received anything new.

Also, any suggestions on whether I should send in TEAS scores from my TEAS 4 that I took in 2009 or my TEAS V that I took in January this year? I received a score a couple of percentages higher on my TEAS 4 than my TEAS V, and I was wondering if that would make a difference. Or would more recent scores be better?

Thank you, everyone!

Hey RosePetalss, if I remember correctly, they take your highest scores. I'm not sure about the PIN thing. I wasn't sent one of those.

Hey RosePetalss, if I remember correctly, they take your highest scores. I'm not sure about the PIN thing. I wasn't sent one of those.

Thanks again! I shall send in my TEAS 4 scores then, if it's the highest scores they need with no time limits.

Regarding the PIN, for some reason, I found that I wrote down my PIN on the university notice they snail mailed me! Lols, I don't even remember WHEN I created this PIN, maybe the first time I checked the status of the app over the phone. Anyway, the automated message over the phone said that my app was deferred to the designated department that I applied to, so I guess that's that.

And now we wait. :)

Anyone planning to take the TEAS in March/April? If so can you please post any comments that is made by the proctor regarding the application pool (eg how many applications they received, if they will notify earlier than mid-May, etc)? On the down side the wait is really killing me. But on the plus side, I'm hoping the late decision allowed other applicants to choose other schools.

I know last year they started letting applicants know in mid april.... :) but then again that was last year! May 15th is the absolute final deadline that they will let us know.

Sigh! Even April 15 seems so far away. I want to get into LB so badly. On my TEAS scores, I got a 90.7 in overall and 93.3 in Math so hopefully that is good enough. But it seems there are so many competitive applicants out there. I don't have anymore fingernails to bite.

I think that is you have a strong science and core GPA you are going to be fine. If you took the TEAS at Long beach can you tell me what the program percentages were for your scores?

Yes I took the TEAS V in January at LB. My program percentage is 98. I wonder if LB takes that into consideration. I heard the TEAS V version is harder but LB will still take the other versions. My science and GE GPA is pretty good. I think I calculated my score to be 9.61. I still won't be able to rest until I get the final notice.

That is a ridiculous score! You are definitely going to get in every year the average is 9.4... I scored about the same as you on the TEAS and my scores aren't that high. I wouldn't worry... but damn you got me worried!!! :)

They don't care what version of these TEAS you take they are all weighed the same.. I actually think for LB it really doesn't matter what version you take... here is why overall your score may be a little lower on V but I have heard that the math is a lot easier on V. So that kind of balances the scores out!

I can't believe the deadline for applications hasn't even passed yet lol ... Why does CSULB have to be so late!

lol I know have any of you heard from any other schools?

Just the rejection from UCLA and interview invitation at CUI. I can't wait for my interview though! The next couple weeks can't go by fast enough!
