CSULB-ELMSN Fall 2011

Published

Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Goodluck to everyone. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

I was there today as well, and this was my second Info session... I was able to hand deliver my application a day early to Monalisa... Saves some postage or another ride over!

I've talked to a number of people who have applied to the program, all with high scores...so I know there is some stiff competition. I've applied to six programs in the hopes of increasing my probability of acceptance, and all have different notification times. All I can say is ...hurry up and wait!

Man I am really torn I am thinking about retaking the TEAS. I did some of the calculations and the reality of it is I can't really improve my score by much. Not sure if it is worth all that studying and stress and everything else that goes along with taking the TEAS :) Why are there so many smart people out there!

Wow, Malefocker! Thanks for the info! And geez, at this point, I don't know if I should even apply anymore.. lol, I don't think I even have a 9.3. Maybe a 9.1 or something. I'll have to send out the app and hope for the best. If I don't hear back, I'll know why.. lol. Dang you smart people! But good luck to everyone! :)

I would definitely still apply... I personally think the cut off will be around 9.0 I spoke with long beach earlier and they told me that 9.10 was the cut off last year before alternates... of course some people who got accepted decided to not to go there which brought the actual cutoff score once some alternates were admitted to around 9.0. I think it will be very similar this time around... but who knows!!! :) I guess there is really nothing we can do except wait and pray... I got accepted last spring to San Marcos ABSN program but I asked them if I could wait till fall to make a decision on whether or not I was going to attend.. and they said YES. So I do have a backup but I live in Irvine and the campus is actually in Temecula which means driving across the 91 everyday... which is horrible. But if that is what I have to do I will do it! Good luck to everyone...

I'm from Irvine too! I commuted from Irvine to CSULB during the last year of my undergrad. It wasn't too bad because traffic is usually going the opposite direction during rush hour.

Malefocker, Did you apply to Concordia University Irvine as well?

I actually did not apply to concordia :(

Yeah I am taking two classes at Golden west right now and the commute is awesome... as long as you are not coming home between 5 and 7 :)

From looking at the other threads, its seeming as though Long beach is going to be getting a ton of applications this year...so much for me thinking there was going to be a smaller applicant pool haha.

I better do amazing on the TEAS then lol

Haha I don't even think I am going to take it- it wont bump up my score much.

For any of you that took the TEAS at Long Beach Version 5... will you tell me what the program percentage ranking is? For the math and the overall score... you can pm me the information if you don't want to put your scores on this thread... I am just curious?

Hi,

do we have to send two sets of transcripts to CSULB (one set with the online graduate app due Nov 30th, and another set with the application)?

Thanks :D

We only need to send one transcript... which you already sent in when you applied to the university. They copied it into the computer and sent it to the nursing department for you! :)
