CSULB BSN Spring 2019

Published

Hello everyone, I was unable to find a thread with potential CSULB Spring transfers so I decided to start one. Hopefully, everyone is just as excited as I am :) I haven't taken the TEAS yet and I am currently wrapping up Micro. I plan on taking TEAS The end of may or early June and if I am unsatisfied with my results I will retake them in July. I would love to hear from other applicants! Good luck!!

So they should be sending out emails regarding the communication excercise in the next couple of weeks?

@myungjin

Thanks for giving us the heads up!

I want to ask if you had taken pharmacology or pathophysio before starting at CSULB?

Were you placed in the semester or trimester system?

Did you have time for any extracurricular activities besides nursing lectures and clinicals?

Were you able to find a job right after graduation/ passing nclex?

I am a first semester student. I'm taking pharm, patho, and 200 right now. I'm in the semester program. I'm not going to lie to you, nursing school is going to be the toughest thing you will ever do. You won't really have a life. You should get an e-mail by oct 10 at the latest.

Hi everyone! I'm also applying for Spring 2019. My score is 9.377 and I'm REALLYYY nervous if I'll get in or not.If we get a request for the communication exercise does that mean that as long as we pass that interview process we'll get in the program?

@myungjin can you tell us about the communication/written exercise? About How many people are invited?

100 of you will be invited. And I believe that for spring, 85 of you will be accepted. I can't tell you anything about the exercise; you're supposed to remain oblivious. But I can definitely tell you that it's easy. Just keep your focus, speak clearly, and don't be retarded.

Hi everyone!

I'm currently a third semester student in the program. Please feel free to ask me any questions you'd like. I will also be at your communication exercise as a resource. To put some questions to rest, The 9.4 is indeed without the communication exercise. For the exercise you either get both points or you don't get any meaning you didn't get in. We usually don't include it in the point stats since those are only for people who were accepted so it's implied that they receive the full 2 points.

Hi, if we are selected to participate in the communication exercise, is there one time that everyone goes in or do you sign up for different times? Should we be expecting for the communication exercise to be in the morning, afternoon, evening, all day? Thanks!

also should we be expecting an email or letter or both?

It will be one day but different time slots. Your acceptance email will prompt you to call the school of nursing and select a time slot on that day that best fits your schedule. The time slots are from 8-4 and Each slot is one hour so your exercise will only be within that one hour.

also should we be expecting an email or letter or both?

You will be receiving an email.

@chubbybunny

Thank you so much Cathy for reaching out to us!

I want to confirm something, on the pool stats page, the years with 11's rating has the 2 exercise communication points included, right? I found it a bit confusing that some years were 11's while others were 9's

Have you taken a nursing capstone course yet? How did you figure out which unit/ specialty you want to go in?
