CSULB BSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I was unable to find a thread with potential CSULB Spring transfers so I decided to start one. Hopefully, everyone is just as excited as I am :) I haven't taken the TEAS yet and I am currently wrapping up Micro. I plan on taking TEAS The end of may or early June and if I am unsatisfied with my results I will retake them in July. I would love to hear from other applicants! Good luck!!

CSULB doesn't accept volunteer work. what was your score for the reading part of the TEAS?

I'm applying for the spring 2019 semester too but I haven't calculated my score yet. I'm applying to a few other CSUs plus Arizona State. I honesly don't think I have a very good chance of getting into any CA schools but I'm going to give it a shot. My gpa is around 3.9 and TEAs score is 87.3 but I have no idea if that's high enough. I have volunteer hours too but I haven't checked to see if csulb accepts volunteer work

CSULB looks at Science PreReq GPA, General Ed PreReq GPA, TEAS Overall, and TEAS Reading. They don't look at anything else. Considering you have a high GPA, it sounds like you may be a competitive applicant. You'll have to calculate your points. I wouldn't rule out all CA schools.

Hey so I am confused on the application process, I applied to CSULB on cal state apply by august 31, and I read to wait for an email prompting you to apply. So if I dont recieve an email does that mean I can't turn in the supplemental application? I know I am a well qualified canidate, so I am confused why I ahvent gotten an email. The application is due in 6 days so I am nervous..

No, so what you do is apply to Cal State Apply by August 31. You will receive a email requesting one copy of all Official Transcripts sent to CSULB Enrollment Services. You can send the Supplemental Nursing Application along with one copy of your Official Transcripts whenever you want. I set my Nursing app. out when I sent my transcripts to CSULB. The only email you will receive prior to the deadline is from CSULB regarding Cal State Apply. So if you have not sent your Supplemental Nursing App plus Official Transcripts and TEAS score, you should send ASAP.

On the application, it doesn't say anything about attaching transcripts for transfer students, but I found the website sort of confusing..should I submit unnofficial transcripts with my applicatin? and then wait until requested to send official?

I called Mona Lisa and she said to submit unofficial transcripts with the SON application.

So on the website it says you can submit unofficial transcripts with the supplemental application, but on the link provided to the document with all the app information it says official, but either or is fine. Enrollment Services will need an official copy though. As for transfer students, I read just now that after you submit your app through Cal State Apply, Enrollment Services will email you requesting a supplemental application. Maybe this is the one you were talking about before. If you applied to Cal State Apply you can use the self service option to see what else they need. If you have not received the email, you should contact the school. And if you have not sent your Nursing Application in, I would send it.

I'm very confused with the SON application. The front page directions say to attach OFFICIAL transcripts but the back says to attach unofficial. I called Monalisa twice and left messages both times, but she hasn't returned my calls.

You can send one or the other... On the website it says unofficial, but there is a link to a document that says official, so its your choice.

Update:

I have retaken the TEAS but still managed to score in the 80's :/ I wish CSULB used the Science section score instead of reading since I did so well in that section. Oh well, fingers crossed my overall score gets me into the next round!!

Science prerequisites GPA: 3.72- that darn B in chem really messed up my GPA -__- (3.72 points)

General GE prerequisites GPA: 3.54 (1.77 points)

TEAS Assessment Reading Score: 80.9% (1.618 points)

TEAS Assessment Overall Score: 87.3% (1.746 points)

Total score: 8.854 = 8.90

Also- submitted my application today! Good luck to everyone, I hope we all make it in!!!

I have spoken to Mona Lisa DIRECTLY and I gave her my official transcripts but let it be known that you don't need official transcripts just unofficial. It's annoying because their front page says official but other parts of like in the application page or something it says unofficial as well.
