CSULB BSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I was unable to find a thread with potential CSULB Spring transfers so I decided to start one. Hopefully, everyone is just as excited as I am :) I haven't taken the TEAS yet and I am currently wrapping up Micro. I plan on taking TEAS The end of may or early June and if I am unsatisfied with my results I will retake them in July. I would love to hear from other applicants! Good luck!!

Hi everyone!

I am just joining this group! I was originally planning to start in the fall of this year, but it didn't quite work out (long story :))

I did participate in the communication exercise in the fall and will echo what others have said, it is nothing to worry about!

Here is my point score:

Science GPA: 4

General GPA: 1.96

TEAS General: 1.89

TEAS Reading: 1.83

Total: 9.68

Good luck everyone, hope to meet you all at the exercise!!

Stephanie

So we should be expecting invitations to the communication excercise in the next two weeks?

Yes, I believe someone said the exercise is on October 17th, and we will be notified via email the week before.

Hello guys!

I am planning on applying to CSULB for the Fall 2019 year, and I was wondering if you guys have any advice or could tell me if I am competitive?

I have the following points:

4.0 prerequisite GPA - 4 points

4.0 GE GPA - 2 points

87.3% overall for TEAS - 1.75 point

85.1% reading for TEAS - 1.70 points

so I have a total of 9.45 points....is this competitive enough? thanks!!

I think so! Here's a link to the pool stats from the past years:

http://web.csulb.edu/colleges/chhs/departments/nursing/studentinfo/documents/PoolStatsFall2018FinalTalley.pdf

For the years that show the stats with 11 points, that's with the communication exercise added in, which is 2 points. Looks like 9.45 (or 11.45 with the communication exercise) is within the range for MOST semesters, a few were a bit more competitive. You have time, so you could re-take your TEAS and see if you can improve your stats a little just to be sure.

Good luck!

I really hope so! the TEAS is sold out in the schools within an hour around me for the next two months...hopefully more dates are added so I can see if I can retest. If not, hopefully my score is good enough to get me in! Thanks so much

Anyone else nervous?

I'm losing my mind haha...

I'm not sure if I'm calculating my points correctly. What classes are you guys using for science GPA & general GPA?

Science GPA: 3.78 (?)

General GPA: 4.00 (?)

TEAS Reading : 87.2

Teas Overall: 90.0

Total points = 9.29

If I'm not using the correct classes my total points will be a little lower. I'm sooo nervous it's so low compared to you guys, I have my fingers crossed I can still get into the communication exercise if they take 100 people overall! Good luck to everyone, seems like we will be hearing fairly soon!

Science GPA: Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry

GE GPA: Stats, Oral Communication, Written Communication, and Critical thinking

If you're GPA is correct, you would have 9.324 points! (also, they don't count +/-)

Oh, awesome! My GPA is pretty much correct then with what you said (3.74 science GPA). Not sure how I got 9.29, but thank you! A little bit better may help hahah!

Oh sorry, I calculated your points incorrectly. :( I thought your science gpa was 3.78. If it was 3.74, you would have 9.284!

Yeah I had added in an extra science that had an A to bump it a little bit. I am just hoping 9.28 will be good enough, it's going to be tough and I'll have to get very lucky! I can't wait, the suspense is killing me.
