Hello everyone, I was unable to find a thread with potential CSULB Spring transfers so I decided to start one. Hopefully, everyone is just as excited as I am :) I haven't taken the TEAS yet and I am currently wrapping up Micro. I plan on taking TEAS The end of may or early June and if I am unsatisfied with my results I will retake them in July. I would love to hear from other applicants! Good luck!!
I have a question, my application status has not changed so far it still says that my application has been forwarded to the nursing dept for review. I have not received a rejection, waitlist, or acceptance email, is anyone else in the same situation? I'm wondering if i should call them because it feels like I fell through the cracks or something

I feel like you should just call them. Did you submit both the application to the school and turn in that supplemental nursing application?
Thanks so much Annie for you advice, I ended up calling the dept and she told me that I'm on the waiting list (#25 lol -.-)... I just hoped that they notified me earlier along with everyone else so I didn't have to call and find out this way
She also mentioned that MAYBE tomorrow the school will send out emails regarding the alternates but she didn't sound 100% sure
Lastly, I know that they tell us how to calculate our points on the website, but I feel like this year was a bit weird because it seems like some people with lower(?) points were accepted and some people with higher points(?) were wait listed, is it just me or people just calculated their points wrong? lol
25? that's crazy isn't their waitlist usually capped at 15?
I was wondering about this too. The past 2 spring semesters had 85 admitted, if you're #25, that means 110 people at minimum were at the exercise. However, I was told there was 108 names for the exercise. Maybe they're admitting less people? Also if you have 9.22 points and you're number 22, I don't even want to know the cut-off for this cohort. It would be a massive jump from last spring to this one. Has anyone who called the SON asked about the cut-off?
I'm actually not the 9.22 that's waitlisted. I am waitlisted too however my score is 9.6 which is why i'm pretty confused but I really do not wana call them about my place on the waitlist until emails come out from the SON.
I know I'm sorry, I was kind of just thinking out loud about people that posted earlier haha.

Weird they told me they invited 120 people (who knows how many showed up). I think 9.3 was the cutoff. I think a lot of people had similar point totals as I had a 9.2 and there were 21 spots ahead of me.
For the other person who was waitlisted with a 9.6. I would say double check what courses would qualify in a particular criteria. I had no idea they would consider my writing class I took 3 years ago as a critical thinking course instead of a course that I took at another school. Especially considering I had two AP classes for the non-sci prereq, basically my average was between two classes which dropped my points enough to be waitlisted.
I do think they may have used the course you took three years ago because they do say they take the first class that fulfills the criteria they ask for not necessarily the one that received the highest letter grade.
It says in red on page three.
I did religiously check my courses with my own counselor and asked at the information session to triple check everything. But maybe I still made a mistake? I don't know but I'll call when SON releases their emails.

May I ask what that would make your points? I want to call the SON and ask (especially if they tell you what position you are on the waitlist, I'm dying to know) but I don't know if I should wait until official SON e-mails are sent out.
For some reason, it didn't show me what your points were when I first looked at this lol! Dang, I really want to call and ask. I feel like our wait has been really long compared to previous cohorts, except for this past fall. Ahhh
