CSULB BSN Spring 2019

Published

Hello everyone, I was unable to find a thread with potential CSULB Spring transfers so I decided to start one. Hopefully, everyone is just as excited as I am :) I haven't taken the TEAS yet and I am currently wrapping up Micro. I plan on taking TEAS The end of may or early June and if I am unsatisfied with my results I will retake them in July. I would love to hear from other applicants! Good luck!!

I know you're not the only one with a higher score that's waitlisted. There was somebody else who had a 9.6 score and was waitlisted. For my score, it makes more sense.

You're a 2nd bachelor's, right? Based on last year's thread, 2nd bachelors seemed to be notified later, like they didn't get 1st pick if that makes sense.

Also, they take your first passing grade (which is C or better) on a required course if that clears things up

Well I'm a transfer not a second degree and I already got an email about wait list from them. Does CSULB consider +,-?

They do not take + or -

I also got waitlisted and I have a 9.6 so I'm also pretty confused... I can only hope it's like last year and they'll do a second round of letters soon!

I wouldn't jump to conclusions considering we have not heard from SON themselves. Have hope :)

I also personally think if you failed the interview you would not be waitlisted you'd simply be denied because that's two more points everyone would have over you and around 100 people attended the interview. I'm sure your acceptance will come soon !

Hi guys, I'm applying to the Fall 2019 pool and had a question I hoped someone could answer. I took AP English Language and Comp. and that fulfills the Written Composition requirement for the GE and Nursing program. I noticed that they don't want you to send AP scores to them but the tests don't show up on my transcript because they aren't college coursework. Does anyone know what I should do about that?

Send your AP scores. I was admitted for spring 2019 and I sent mine so better safe than sorry.

Hey guys quick question, does anybody know if SON requires students to submit a drug test? I received a medicinal marijuana card from my doctor several years ago due to health problems, but I am not sure what the nursing programs principles are with this situation and I do not want to call and ask as I am slightly embarrassed they'll think badly of me. Thank you for any feedback/help in advance.

Hi @helloguys! CSULB SON does a backbround check and a drug screening using CastleBranch. You can google what CastleBranch is and see how they check for all that. Hope this information was helpful! And in terms of the medicinal marijuana, I am not too sure about that. If anyone has any input on that so you don't have to ask the SON, that'd be ideal.

So I called SON to see why I was wait listed... it turns out that one of my writing classes that I took at UCI counted as critical thinking and I got a B- there and they used that class instead of my class I took at another school that explicitly says Critical Thinking that I got an A in. I'm position number 22 and they calculated my score as 9.22.
