CSULA FALL 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello. I wanted to create this forum for people who are applying to Cal State Los Angeles for Fall 2020. This is a place where we can discuss and compare statistics between us, as well as ask questions regarding the program. Thank you and good luck to you all!

I just got an email from from the university! It says they are offering me admission to the nursing program! do you guys know if we are supposed to get another email from the SON or is this it?!

Mine also says incomplete. ? feeling discouraged. Hopefully it changes. I had excellent stats, volunteer work, and work experience in the health field if I don’t get accepted it is ridiculous. I do have the communications exercise at long beach today so hopefully I get in there if anything.
@CocoaQueen be sure to keep us updated if you receive an email! Thanks for sharing with us. ? and congrats! It def wouldn’t say admitted if you weren’t in.

Any updates guys? The email came in @ 1:11 this morning. @Jessikaaaa @ninja1968

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for a while and I'd like to congratulate those of you who have been admitted already!! I received an email as well today at 1:29 AM. It looks like they're sending emails at different times, so I wouldn't worry about it, especially given your stats and experience!

Hey guys! I was unfortunately denied admission. They said I could appeal. Congratulations to everyone else!

My stats were:

TEAS = 92%
over all GPA: 3.95, pre-req GPA: 4.0

201 hours volunteer work at Kaiser Permanente

More than 4,000 hours of experience as a certified massage therapist at a chiropractic office.

Not really sure why the denied me. I had everything perfect and followed all of the guidelines. Does anyone know if they offer admission to people again after people deny their spots? Is it worth it to appeal? Thanks!

I was denied also. Considering us not knowing what the basis really is for a ticket to the program it will be a hard uphill battle with the appeals process in my opinion.

Congrats to all that got accepted! For those of us that didn't good luck to us in the upcoming opportunities. God will open doors for us. Patience my friends...patience.

I wish you guys the best of luck. Do not be discouraged because this is just one bump in the road. More opportunities will present themselves. Did you guys apply to other programs?

I'm sorry to hear that! Don't worry about it, there are plenty of options and you can always reapply. I had a 4.0 cumulative and prereq GPA and a 96.7% on the TEAS, but no volunteer work or employment that provided clinical experience. What about you?

I'm incredibly shocked that they denied you. I feel that you should appeal, given you have pretty high scores and tons of work experience! I'm not sure if they'd offer admission after people deny their spots. Do they have a set waitlist?

@ninja1968

I am shocked they didn’t. I was like positive you would. I’m curious too the reasoning behind the denial, seems unfair ? I’m going to do a letter of appeal just for the heck of it.
I’m devastated though this was my first priority school.

Yeah it’s not fair at all. I did everything right. I almost want to think it’s a mistake... I’m going to appeal as well.
