CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

Yes, and those who were waitlisted had 23 points. (Apparently some got in) I looked at CSULA's acceptance stats for last year's BSN. You can search it on here. It's still up.

Thank you! I'm kind of nervous since I only applied to 3 schools (Cal State LA, Long Beach and MSMU, which is extremely selective when it comes to transfer applicants)

About the pre-req gpa, on the nursing CAS website it also says that only 6 courses will be counted towards the point system. Stats and Micro won't go towards your pre-req gpa. Hope this helps! :)

Concerning NursingCAS, has anyone mailed their official transcripts to the NursingCAS Transcript Processing Center, yet? Does NursingCAS have to receive and approve my official transcripts BY JANUARY 11 for my application to be valid? I am still waiting on one of my final grades to be posted so I can request for them to be mailed over there. This official transcript stuff is just confusing me.....

It is confusing! I've requested my transcripts, and they should be mailed this week. As far as I understand, nursingcas has to receive our completed application and transcripts by January 11. I don't think the transcripts have to be approved by that date. They are barely going to receive my transcripts before January 11.

Is there any supplemental forms I have to submit besides my online app and transcripts? Thanks in advance. I went on the website but there wasn't must information regarding this.

Hello yall, Just curious tonight to see if there was a thread for 2016 fall CSULA BSN students. Looks like there is. I'm currently a student in the CSULA BSN program c/o 2018. If you all have any questions as far as how the program is and what to expect, feel free to ask.

Can you answer specific questions regarding the application process? Am I supposed to submit my transcripts and letter of volunteer service to the SON directly?

Are you doing the Nursing CAS application?

I had my school send my transcript to nursingCAS so they can verify it

I entered my volunteer hours and uploaded a letter from my volunteer coordinator to my nursingCAS application

Thank you! I have a question regarding the application process if that's okay? NursingCAS has verified everything but I have no idea what happens next. Do I just wait until April to see if I got in? I called nursingCAS and they told me to call CSULA instead but CSULA is closed for the week due to the holidays.

Also, how is the first year of nursing school? Do you study full time or do you work as well? How many hours do you spend studying? What's the most difficult class for you? It probably depends on each person but I still wanna know ?

How easy/difficult is it to find people in your class that you feel comfortable with?

Hey everyone ? I am also applying. Im confused with the teas. I took the Teas at long beach so do I need to send them on ati? or do i mail the results to cal state la son?

Hi! So if you take the teas at long beach, you'd need to send your results to cal state LA. You can do that by going to the ati website > my purchases > purchase transcript then select cal state LA as the school you want to send it to. It's gonna be $27
