CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)

Updated:   Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

for the teas points do I look at the adjusted individual score or the national percentile rank?

I'm asking because in the nursingcas application, they ask for the adjusted individual scores hmm

It's the national percentile rank. nursingcas didn't ask for my scores. i already turned in my app. so weird! ? it just asked for a pdf file of my score sheet

Pre-req gpa (4.0): 10 points

Overall gpa (3.89): 5 points

Teas (97 English,93 reading): 10 points

Volunteer experience: (102 hours): 2 points

National percentile rank. Just to clarify for everybody, Nusing Cas is used by CSULAs SON just for GPA calculations and to organize everything together. Before, the SON had to calculate all GPAs by hand but the p it purpose of NursingCas this year is to make things more efficient. Therefore, to answer your question .. you only need to upload a PDF of your scores. The SON will personally look at your scores and rank you along with other pre nursing students.

To whoever said statistics and microbiology does not count in your pre req GPA, you were lied to.

It's for everything: questions, answers, support. ? The natural progression was stats when we had them available. Good points. I'm sure you'll get in.

Stats and micro can be in progress in Spring, and acceptance letters are sent out before the end of that semester, so how can they be counted....

Hi everyone! I had another question because I'm getting pretty nervous about it with the deadline approaching! Do our transcripts have to received by NursingCAS by the deadline or just be postmarked before that? Because with the holidays just passing, my school was not in office to send transcripts so now I'm paranoid they won't get there in time lol! Anyone happen to know?

When did your transcript get sent out? From what I heard from the info nursing session, NursingCAS should receive the transcript before the deadline. My transcript was sent out in the 29th and was delivered yesterday so it took a week for it to be sent. Hopefully yours arrives on time!
